the talk of them having an intense sexual relationship comes from a quote from the special features on the newest movie dvd; it is her most recent statements about him being gay

in contrast to her talk about them being intensely gay, in the movie apparently the closest example is that Dumbledore at one point looks in a mirror that shows his deepest desire and it shows his boyfriend

have no desire to see the Harry Potter series become hardcore gay porn or anything
but she basically skirts the issue of controversy with her work by not including things like this in her actual writing
then goes back and 'inserts' it into the universe later for brownie points

she does not write gay characters experiencing the pluses and minuses of being gay in a social sphere
similarly, there was little to no indication or treatment of Hermione's being black and how that impacted her time at school
it's not pro-minority writings; it's a businessperson looking for minority dollars

the reason she is catching flack for it is due to her also supporting anti-trans narratives and individuals
and if the whole blaming pewdiepie for the recent shooting has taught me anything, a person can be an awful guilty person just by virtue of who they follow on twitter
