BRF Cakes to un-modified mini-mono - will this work?

I apologize if this has already been answered. I’m in a pinch for time and haven’t properly done my research on the specific topic.

I’m doing the PF TEK but instead of building a SGFC I’d like to do one of Bod’s unmodifed monotubs

Since I’m not doing a SGFC there’s a bit of confusion whether i’ll need a layer of moist perlite or if I simply place the cakes on some tinfoil and mist?

I’m planning to fruit 5 cakes, dunked and rolled, inside a 32qt tub like in the link.

Any advice is appreciated!

Idk how cakes would do in the tub. You would need to pack it full is my guess.
