Not often. It can happen to them once they get larger, like a tennis ball. I've lost a few to internal rot but it's not a major concern with Lophophora.

There’s a cacti in this picture so I’ll put it here. There’s also a khat, unhappy psychotria Nexus, Methysticodendron Amesianum, a tub of betel nuts that will hopefully sprout, Pachypodium Lamerei, and the plant terrorizing Blue Heeler(Australian cattle dog)  cv. ‘Pepper’.

Pepper is deaf and loves tearing up all plants. She was chewing on an Ocotillo branch today after that she moved to kratom. My cacti are in great danger. Nothing is off limits for this dog, she wants to taste and play with everything. That said she’s a great dog.

Pepper says thank you
I’m not familiar with Kelpies but reading Wikipedia I can idmagine he/she was a loyal intelligent dog that loved to play, run, and kept you on your toes.

Pepper loves to play frisbee, scurry through the bushes, and chase the sand pipers at the beach.

What a beautiful dog. I only have problems with cats, we kind of adopted a couple of strays that come for food and petting but won't go inside. They show absolutely no respect for the plants and will jump up to whatever you're working at if you pay no attention to them for some time. I swear they must have hooves, by the carefree way they walk over thorny plants...

I have a problem with ONE CAT!
LESTER!:mad2:

Everytime Miss Kitty(my cat) comes out here comes his pervert self.
He will camp outside and meow for her like a wierdo and dig all in my beds with plants or no plants.
He then poops and doesnt cover it.

My cat is cool though and some what gentle.
She breaks stuff very rarely.
Mainly she just scratches her face on the aloes.
I think she knows i care about them.

We got her about a month ago. She was about to be put down. Word is that she was picked up by a trucker in Pecos, that’s 8+hrs away doing 80+mph. Amazing she found us. She was helping me weed some cacti pots today. It’s funny how much she loves plants.

Anyone know the identity of the pink flowered one? The gentleman I got it from couldn’t grasp the name but said it was from South America.
The other one looks like a montrose cereus to me.

The cacti sorta looks like a type of copiapoa

I think the pink flower one is a Neoporteria Subgibbosa after looking in a couple books. Definitely a Neo of some sort

Agreed. The former Neoporteria, Neochilenia, etc. are now all Eriosyce and a nightmare to identify properly without locality data, but otherwise E. subgibbosa seems as good a guess as any.

The name changes are a nightmare indeed. Luckily ‘The Cactus Family’ book gives multiple names.

I got these for grafting my Lophophora Williamsii to later down the road once they grow up. I’m a fan of the blue and the chevron stripes.
