She's alright.  We could do worse, but she won't win.  Nominating her would be foolish.

We already have Tulsi Gabbard in the mix, so most of Bernie's positions are already going to be represented. I'm really glad she threw in her hat, though I would still prefer Bernie.

Is going to do about what?

I have a feeling there are a lot of smear campaigns/conspiracy plots already in the works for this Democratic primary cycle.

I just discovered that Tulsi Gabbard did a Joe Rogan podcast, the other day. I thought this was pretty ballsy on her behalf, and quite funny also. You would never see a politician like Hillary Clinton go on something like JRE, because it would be very difficult to fake who you are for ~2 hours solid, while talking to an every day 'joe' (pun intended)!

She gives a big shout out to Jimmy Dore for talking about a lot of things the mainstream media won't cover.

Yes, I thought that was pretty cool. I think that's the first time I've ever seen a politician endorse alternative media.

The smear campaign from the mainstream media will be brutal, but hopefully enough of us realize that's all going to be a bunch of horse shit.

I like that Trump has spread the idea of 'fake news'. It's important that people start understanding what American news media has become. I have been seeing some brazen smears of Bernie Sanders already. It is a bit disheartening too, to be perfectly honest.

Nobody does propaganda as well as the US.  I think Congress took Hillary seriously when she said we need to kick up our propaganda efforts.

(old video, but a good one)

Unfortunately, the left has now dedicated itself to believing the MSM because of their hatred of Trump.

Instead of being the party of skepticism and questioning authority, they can embrace everything that comes from The Establishment.

Believe it or not, there are many of us on the left that don't hate Trump. I don't hate him. I think he's a buffoon, and a child, but I don't hate him. I don't take anything he says seriously, and neither should you. He's proven himself to be a pathological liar, and intellectually inferior to your average Joe.

A very significant portion of the left questions the Democratic party these days. At least 50% of what alternative left wing media does is criticize Democratic politicians.

Unfortunately, educated people make up the minority of the population, so you may be right.

You do realize that 97% of climate scientists agree on man made global warming, which is astounding considering that half of them are probably conservative.

I also agree with them, the disagreement starts what to do about it.

From my perspective, I don't want to do anything that lowers my current standard of living because someone chooses to get hysterical about the climate and environment.

In fact, many politicians, governments and activists abuse this fear about these issues to make laws and mandates for their own benefit at the expense of average people.

Does that mean that efforts to do so are without merit?

There is benefit to worrying about the future, if we were so short sighted, nuclear war would have already ended us. I believe that this is the great test for humanity. Can we bridge the gap between our nature, and our capability? If so, the sky is no limit. We have no other limitations.

Is going to do about installing a nominee for President. This process is more fabricated than the general election, and what happened to Sanders last time was not a unique occurrence, despite what many on this forum believe. It was business as usual for party politics. Maybe I'm more sensitive to this because I have been following politics from Chicago since the 60's, and over here there is no pretense to fairness. The game is rigged.

Bernie and other progressive candidates have gotten people excited about helping the poor and middle classes by taxing the rich a little more.

But the rich have an answer.  Enter Democratic billionaire Howard Schultz, who says he will run as an independent.  If an establishment democrat wins the democratic party nomination, he'll probably step down and support that person.  But if a progressive candidate wins, he'll play spoiler and allow Trump to win so he can keep his tax cuts.

This is why the US needs something like Instant-runoff voting.  :shake:
