All of Trump's major properties have lots of illegal aliens working there. During the Presidential campaign they had special procedures to take them off the employment rolls (while they continued to work there) because the secret service had to vet all his employees.

I don't know but the hard part is going to be when he claims that he doesn't actually know them, like he does with everybody else after they get indicted and rat on him.

    I know he places a high value on loyalty, and in other circumstances I respect that, but has anybody else ever put great trust in this many people, had them turn on him, and then claim he doesn't even know that person.

Rwally? What loop holes is he closing? The wall doesn’t do shit if the illegals are already here. In fact it makes them far less likely to leave. What are you going to do to get the 11 million that are already here? It would cost hundreds of billions of dollars to hunt them down and deport them.

Let’s not forget these people continued to work at his properties until they were outed by media in the past month. The past isn’t the past.  He is still abusing the system even as he lectures us about the emergency that illegals represent. He’s a fucking fraud.

Well, I remember way back when he tried to make a deal for DACA, he was going to legalized millions of illegals, but they wouldn't fund the wall.

You remember wrong. He agreed to a deal for DACA and $25 billion for the wall last year. Then his base went nuts about the DACA deal, and he reneged. The he lost his DACA leverage when the courts said he couldn’t change Obama’s DACA amnesty. Now the Supreme Court has refused to hear the trump appeal, so as we speak the daca program continues. And trump got nothing for the wall. You have to admit he’s really bungled this.

The democrats control the House. He’s not getting money for the wall. He wouldn’t dare shutdown again. I guarantee you will see massive sick outs by federal employees. The reason the shutdown ended was the fact that airports were starting to shutdown Friday morning due to ATC staffing issues. These workers now know they power they wield. They will not sit back and wait a month to flex their muscle.

Trump will probably declare a national emergency. The courts will block him. There will be outrage.

The fundamental problem with trump demanding a wall is he never had majority support for the policy. He lost the popular vote. The people actually rejected his platform, but he ended up becoming president . He’s been acting like his ideas were the most popular. They weren’t and the people are not supporting him. The democrats took the house because the people wanted someone to stop trump. Hes a lame duck. There will be no wall. Pelosi has put her foot down and she is wayyy better at this than trump.

That's a good point. If they built a wall, the Mexicans who wanted to go back with their American Dollars as they frequently do (as every nationality of immigrant frequently does) they wont be able to get back into Mexico. Damn shortsighted conservatives. They forgot to think this one through. Go figure.

It’s not that they won’t be able to get back into Mexico. You can just walk into Mexico. The problem is that there used to be a lot of back and forth. Illegals came to work seasonal jobs or for a limited amount of time then would go home. Then the cycle would repeat. With tougher enforcement, the illegals have decided to stay permanently because they worry about not getting back into US. All the undocumented that I know are here for good now.

We can control most of the immigration by letting in as many immigrants as possible so we can tax them and for the rest of the border, patrolling works just fine. We have no wall now and everything is fine.

Do you support a Canadian wall? That is the border we should be worried about if we are worried about any border. People who want the wall believe  that immigrants from the South are criminals and inferior people. They think they are going to rape and murder them.

The wall is a big waste of money and it wont do anything. People will go over, under, and through it.

I don’t think a wall is inherently racist. I do think the current demand for a wall is driven by racism. The way trump is whipping up his base demonizing undocumented workers is appealing to racist sentiments and also fueling them. There is no immigration crisis at the southern border. The illegal population in the US has been steady for a decade. It’s all bullshit.

Omg I’ve personally known at least a half dozen Canadians who have lived and worked in the US illegally. I bet it’s way more common than anyone knows.  But they’re white and they speak English well enough to pass as American so nobody even notices.

They're coming in anyways, with or without your stupid wall so we might as well let them in and tax them and it will be a lot of tax money. The cheap labor will be great for rebuilding our crumbling country. Remember who built this county. Immigrants.

The Northern border has illegals, drugs, and terrorists coming in too. I've known many illegal Canadians.

There are a lot of Africans working in the U.S. They got here legally but they have no intention of leaving when their work visas expire. Would you go back to Africa? The employers don't monitor the work visas. When the visas expire they move and change their names and social security numbers for another employer who doesn't care.

I am incensed by arguments that an immigration wall will keep drugs out. One person can carry millions of dollars worth of heroin, so the economic incentive for the cartels guarantees that this flow will not be stopped one way or another.  If we could keep drugs out of the U.S., we could keep drugs out of prisons. Maybe we should build walls around prisons. Oh yeah...See, this how stupid the argument is.
