Who said it was good news?

It's simply news.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

On second thought, how is this not good news?  Why wouldn't you be happy to learn that Russia didn't play a significant role in our election?

IF anyone did that, then yes, they would absolutely be a traitor.

Now here's a question for you:

...if Russia DIDN'T interfere in our elections and as an American, owing your allegiance to America, you make believe that they did, does that make you a patriot?

We already know they did interfere.  The only debate is the extent to which that interference was effective.

According to my sisters updated dna test we are part russian heritage.  But that doesn't mean I think a strong and somewhat offensive posture is good ethics.

It's a loss to be putting so much effort into military might that you know will get used.  It predetermines conflict in the ways it's used and manufactured more than defends.

The usa does this the most.  So then every other nation follows the leader and tries to as much as they can.

Is it their tendency towards authoritarian and tyrannical leadership? Is it the huge wealth disparity? Is it the lack of an independent judiciary? The pathetically low life expectancy? The dependence on one industry? The homophobic culture?

I'm hobophobic.

They have two industries in reality.  Oil/gas and weapons.  For export at least.

My doctor is belarussian and not bad looking at all and really nice (for a pdoc).  But the politics in Russia have always looked to hero types.  Always messy mob stuff is what it actually is.

I might owe an apology.  It appears that social media was indeed used by the Government to manipulate people:

Software creates fake online identities to spread propaganda

Yeah, it has nothing to do with immigration laws, citizenship, borders and national sovereignty.

Let's just jump to the most commonly used tactic of the left, "YOU'RE RACIST!!!!".  :crankey:

You left out a critical piece.

It's more like this "Why do you keep taking a position that you are unable to defend?  Is it because you're racist?"
