It’s not good for joe six pack. The problem is joe six pack is an ignorant moron and voted for someone who doesn’t understand economics. The rest of the world learned that tarrifs do not benefit anyone decades ago.

You thought liberals want to stick it to Wall Street? Again, you are wrong. Liberals just want wall street to be held responsible when they commit crimes. If you’re Mexican and you commit a misdemeanor you lose your kids. If you’re a banker you get a bailout after committing a billion dollar fraud.

You do realize economic tariffs create dislocations that cost some US jobs, while creating more elsewhere?

Alright please show us these new jobs then?... By elsewhere do you mean other countries? Because that is what happened, plants got shut down here and moved overseas thanks to the trade war.

Quote:
And that economic tariffs hurt companies that try to sell things into the US, which ultimately leads them to producing the goods here?

Alright then show us these companies that trump "lead to producing goods here" with his tariffs...

At least I am not blindly making assumptions that my dear leader will somehow pull through in the end, despite turning everything he touches into a bigger mess

Nations don't implement tariffs to hurt domestic jobs and cause higher prices for products, do you understand why they might do it?

Why does China have much higher tariffs than the US?  To protect their industries and to provide employment.

The tariffs haven't even started and now you want to see jobs coming back to the US, please tell me you're joking. Do you know how long it took for the US to lose millions of jobs to third world nations?  Decades!!

You clearly don't understand the theory behind economic tariffs, global trade, the US trade deficit and what's taking place today.

"If you're rich they let you do it"... Different context originally but still appropriate.

How about cops caught committing crimes only to get slaps on the wrist?

Funny how while we let cops/politicians/companies get away with all sorts of crap people like Qman defend a ridiculous border policy that holds refugees to higher standards...

It's like complaining a piece of fruit is a bit dusty meanwhile it is rotting to the core and saying "we need to build a wall to keep off dust!"

You mean the ones started by Bush?

Just a third of Americans know that the bank bailout was enacted by the Bush administration; nearly half incorrectly say it was passed under President Obama.

Lol this is what i love about capitalists, they think big business will just throw up their hands and say "welp! guess we'll take that loss, you sure got us Donald," when in reality the costs will just be passed on to the consumer.

So you take issue with Bernie and his position on US trade agreements and the massive trade deficit?

Implying that launching a hostile trade war, even with allies, is the only course of action to fix our economy.

The only thing that's hostile is the US trade deficit, now please answer the question.

"fix our economy"

The US economy is fine, my main concern is the working class.

On a relative basis, it's true. The stock, bond and real estate markets are near all-time highs, and the US dollar is once again the best shirt in a dirty laundry bag.

Obviously, the US worker has no wage growth and mountains of debt. The people in power have what they want, low growth, low inflation, low commodity prices and no wage pressure.

Yes it started doing better, under obama after he fixed some of Bush's mess. Trump is already steering us back down again if things continue this way... But at least the next recession will hit in time to blame a democrat just like last time :facepalm3:

True capitalism enables anything. The US is non-competitive in the manufacturing sector. We're spoiled little brats who can't work 14 hour days for a dollar a day. We don't deserve to survive in the dog eat dog market of competitive free market. There's a reason I support Chinese textile plants, and that reason is they're easily 3x cheaper for the same quality goods. Capitalism and the free market have told the US: if you wanna be a spoiled brat, get ready for a trade deficit. Some of us have gone "waaaaa!" and some of us have decided that financial, high tech, and cultural exports are an easy market, because I don't work the aforementioned 14 hour days for a dollar a day. The free market capitalism throughout the world lets me pay a brown person to do that bullshit work for me.

By all means, if you, Mr. US citizen, wanna work in my sweatshop for pennies an hour, then I'll show you how to be competitive in a capitalist economy. I'm guessing you won't take the job though. You'll vote for protectionist subsidies and tariffs, to protect your snowflake unskilled ass from real labor.</font></font></font>

EDIT:

No, seriously, what's the difference between being a welfare queen and hiding behind tariffs? Either way, you're stealing money and redistributing it to the poor (in theory, at least, but with hom much Trump goes golfing...)
