Nah I think hes judging you because you are a little full of yourself, but this is an understandable defensive measure when going through family trouble, I did it that way, too, and it kept me sane.

You should first of all try to continue your education, thats your ticket out of there.

I don't know better, and I'm far from being a know it all

I just know better in how to actually meditate and don't go around boasting about it

There's nothing to gain from meditation anyway, except what you lose

Its not about what you say, its how you say it and thats postpuberty style at the moment.
You may very well not have discovered the benefits of meditation. It shares benefits with a lot of other techniques which calm body and mind. People learn to control their thoughts through meditation.
Its a huge benefit to be able to shove that past away once in a while.

Topcat

You sound a lot like most of us did at your age.

Let me ask you something.... have you ever talked to a 12 year old and tried to tell them something that they refused to agree on but you knew was right?

I'm not saying youre an infant. The point is you cant tell a person pretty much anything. They have to learn it by tripping and falling. Its a horrible fact of life that drives some of us insane / irritable / troll / pessimistic.

I took a lot of psychedelics myself. I found my own version of wisdom in them. No one could have told me the things I learned. Not even the wisest of men. And I couldn't give you it to you if I tried.

But the main pieces of advice that can be spread around are the most simple ones. And I float back to them everytime I drift off into the philosophy-train.

Do on to others as you would want done on to you.
Shoot for the stars.
Dont waste your life worrying.

All these simple things.

Now.... you are 19 years old. The absolute best advice you can receive and take in and act on.... is work hard, ignore your co-workers, dont make friends, be the best, get an education while you do it, ignore relationships, and create a purpose.

This means work at walmart if you have to but never be unemployed. CONSTANTLY look for higher paying jobs. Each time you get a job upgrade KEEP SEARCHING. Quickly make a decision on education. Dont wait until youre 21. Make your own business when you can.

Dont make EXCUSES. For ANYTHING. Shit happened to you? Big deal. It happened to all of us. And guess what? Pretty much no one cares. And for sure no one that can do anything about it is going to care. You know what a bad guardian is? Someone who gives you the fish and tells you you're special. The good guardian says stfu and get a job. Stfu and deal with it.

The likelihood of you taking that advice? About 0.1 percent.
The likelihood of you regretting not taking that advice? 100 percent.

You know what I would tell my younger self if I could only give him 2 words?

BE VICIOUS!

If I had 3?

BE FUCKING VICIOUS!

Urrrr... ignore friends, colleagues and relationships?!?!?

Hey look, it might work for the more introverted amongst us, but I really, really think that is terrible advice to give to just anyone. Other humans are a HUGE catalyst for our personal growth.

I know there's humans out there that retire to caves for years and emerge enlightened, but you're suggesting remaining in society and working. Shutting yourself from other people whilst doing so is, IMO, just about the worst advice I've ever seen anyone give.

Also:

No such thing as 100% when it comes to human emotion. I have no regrets in my life, perhaps OP will feel that way too?

We really have no way of knowing.

BTW, I don't want you to think I don't appreciate your post and your words and time, I really do, I just think there's a couple of points in there that need a little more thinking about..

While typing the 100 percent part I considered typing in 99 percent to cover for the "WELL HEY NOW! 100 percent?!?!?!" people. But I felt like it would ruin the message so I just left it as is.

Retracting affirmatives ruins the point of sentences.

Mildly altering in particular points the affirmative can sometimes but not always ruin some or most of the point of sentences.

^ thats my point here x.x

And when I said ignore your friends I mainly meant people at work. Dont make friends with co-workers.

But the relationship part... I think thats solid advice. I know it can build character but it slows most people down. Easiest to just avoid it until you are settled and capable of juggling both. Which imo is a long period of time.

And btw I'm not mad at you.... I'm frustrated that I saw this coming but didn't compensate for it.

You know how that goes.

I hear ya. 99% would have been a better choice.

As for the people bit though... man, I just cannot wrap my head around that. I think people are the most important thing in the world.

Like I said, I get it if you're gonna go live in a cave to seek pure enlightenment. But in what other situation could avoiding people ever be beneficial?? Even in relationships - yes, they hurt, yes, they can slow you down - but they are often the greatest catalyst to personal growth I have ever seen - both in myself and many others.

Do you have many friends/are you an introvert? That might explain why you feel this way...

so growing up in that type of environment where nothing is predictable and you never feel safe, it doesn't have many benefits.

but Ive found is that I tolerate violent & frightening situations very well.  And the normal people who've never experienced scary situations will be useless, traumatized or start to panic.  They've never known this stuff and they dont know how to deal with it as adults when shit hits the fan, so to speak.  LOL my blood pressure prolly doesn't even rise.

and i find humor in things others wouldn't.  humor is tragedy and timing, sometimes shock.  I relate to a lot of bad stuff it seems so I may laugh at stuff others cant relate to.  I dont laugh right now though because Im numbed by drugs, but when Im a couple days off the shit I laugh at everything.

Friends outside work are fine. Its friends AT work that I find are an issue for people. You start trying to imitate and impress them instead of being better than them to move up. You are there for the $$$$.

Being a loner is too much. Atleast have some friends.

Relationships definitely build the fuck out of you. But that raw innocent young energy... if focused into a ball of money making flame and piss and vinegar....

People love me brotato. I'm a no-nonsense happy-go-lucky jokester with a heart of gold. But that wasn't a learned skill. I've just always been that way lol. Its made adaptation a lot easier for me than others.

Btw do you have a beard? I've got quite the beard myself. Just recently gave it a clean cut short length though.

Lol I'm the same way with scary situations. I stress about them after the fact not during. The shit has to get done... stressing while its still going on is illogical and I hate illogical!

Drove 150 MPH one time taking a girlfriend to a hospital. Before we left she was screaming and I had a straight face and was at the door waiting for her before she got ready. Absolutely blasted that car through every stop light slowing down making sure I was good for crashes. Never once showed emotion. Cops got on me on the final road into the ER and I continued to straight face. Got there opened her door took her inside cops came in looking for me and I ignored them until she was in a wheelchair being taken back.

Started talking to the cops and I started crying and I collapsed.

what makes people happy isnt money, its other people.  having relationships and being closely bonded to and connected to others.

that is the one thing all addicts (and all people who suffer with addictions) all have in common... disconnectedness to one another.  Also there is a spiritual disconnect from the divine.

that is the reason muslims dont drink, it separates them from God.  So does the corn, and the fluoride, and the chemtrails.  prolly vaccines.
I wonder if thats why fasting makes you more likely to have a spiritual experience.

For me it is a learned skill. I was a fucking asshole up until my early twenties. Now everywhere I go I make friends with such ease that it sometimes shocks me how much people love me.

I think it's called being kind, or a good person, or open, or some such shit, and focusing on and putting effort into it.

It's more important to be good with people than to be good at your job IMO. Far, far more important. I earn an extortionate amount of money and the reason I got to where I am now is because I'm good with people.

So I really disagree with your advice. Only in that regard mind, I thought the rest was great.

With a name like this, of course I have a beard!!! Always have, from that first bumfluff onwards...

It just feels right. I like embracing my manliness.

i picture you buzzing around in your wheelchair, doing circles and wheelies around people, charming them like a dancer flaunting himself all over the place.  trying to win people over with your sweet wheelchair moves, just so they will start to push your chair.

I am so fucking funny sometimes. :rofl2:

Heres the thing boys!

This guys situation you have to take into consideration. It sounds a lot like loser surroundings with no aspirations... and you combine that with the typical lazy 19 year old... and you've got another meth head welfare dude who will NEVER be happy.

Its very very obvious that money doesn't make you happy. But life without a job? A purpose? And a previous history of losers being losers doing loser things? I think the best advice we can give him is hit the ground running.

LOL, I'm well aware of what I'm saying and doing
I'm an ironic comic at times contradicting what I say lately

I just felt slightly persecuted for the sociopath comment because

a) I thought of that many times before and do not want to be like my dad, or my brothers/siblings

b) I felt as if I'm being compared to one, going neurotic

And I live with people with psychotic issues, so of course

I have an inconsistent psychology, because half the time I'm observing, listening, thinking about deep ideas, or listening and jamming to music

Music is probably why I haven't went insane

And I'm well aware how much of psychology works, I am not violent or a criminal (except that im growing mushrooms now)

Actually I am a dick at times but I have a big heart

And I think living at my mom's makes me go borderline edgy of getting bad thoughts

Apparently the biggest motives for suicide is
partner/relationship loss
mental health
lack of money/career
...academic

I think I hit the nail on all of them of the jackpot, except medical/aging

And hello,
What do you (not specifically you) think I'm going mushrooms for?
To become a serial killer psycho? LOL

Sorry, I'm just a bit obnoxious and get a bit triggered thinking of my parents and specifically my dad

Though I am thankful to both of them for giving the opportunity to be me and alive, if it werent for them I wouldnt have existed

Just seems as a boogeyman shit.... and just an fyi there are sociopaths out there that are not violent at all really

It feels like shit to feel like you've lost everything, rock bottom
ZERO

And going into public makes me a bit paranoid because of some women/hood-rat hoes I was dealing with who hold their emotional shit at me

Everything will be alright... and yes, full fucking throttle I need a job anywhere at this point, though something respectable is good to strive for. Maybe I just need to apply for another marketing job, it's good experience.

And that was my plan before, to cut out people with baggage, and stop or do as little baggage on to others instead of getting yanked around so easily.
The problem I encounter is being very introverted, you see a lot of people in and out of why people do things and behavior, but then my pain-olympics tolerance to life makes me go stone cold or very mentally drained easily and get lonely.

fyi

there has never been an enlightened being at any point of history

There is no such thing as enlightenment either, there's a strange zen quote that goes "if you meet the buddha, kill him" because any preconceived notions of an awakened mind is probably an illusion

Going into a cave is useless, there's a bunch of gurus that just milk people for money with mysticism
