Why is it that when some feel vulnerable, they lash out?

Is reflection not enough to combat these feelings?
Is this someone just not introspective enough, hence the failure?

Eh...typical human behavior. When I feel weak, I slip into defense mode (like most people). As I mature (emotionally), this will probably occur less and less.

Depends on the severity of the vulnerability, I suppose...

The higher the vulnerability, the less likely one will take a pleasant and civilized course of action to control the innate survival instinct to lash out... I think it's obviously related deeply to the individual's type of ego as well..

they dont have a stop mechanism. Or in other words... that last interjection of self analysis that says "maybe i should not hit this cop in the face"... or "maybe i should not hit my kid for talking back"

I feel anger a lot, feel like lashing out, why i feel this way i dont know, but i dont do it in any case. Sometimes i snap, when ive thouroughly been annoyed, but nothing "physical".

Maybe its like in the movie with adam sandler and jack nickleson... where he lashes out for what happened to him earlier in life. Freudian slips maybe, they just get violent? lol  :stoned:
