Saw this in the news forum. Eyes and ears, everybody. All pickers deserve to come home dry warm and safe.

Man picking mushrooms in Tillamook State Forest missing

TILLAMOOK, Ore. (AP) — Authorities from multiple agencies are searching for a 49-year-old man who was reported missing after he didn't return from picking mushrooms in the Tillamook State Forest.

KGW-TV reports Michael Scott Lund was reported missing by a friend Monday.

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office says Lund was in the area of Drift Creek Forest Road about 30 miles (48 kilometers) east of Tillamook.

Lund was described as a 5-foot-10, 220-pound white man with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray flannel shirt, tan pants and a baseball hat.

The sheriff's office says Lund doesn't have food or water for an extended stay in the wilderness.

Lund's family says he doesn't suffer from health or psychological issues.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office at 503-815-1911.

Stay safe everyone. For the love of god at least bring fire, water purification tablets, a small mirror, knife and some kind of rope. This would fit in a regular sized cost pocket. Please dress for the weather. There's parts in that forest you won't get any cell service at all for miles and miles, and it's really difficult to run rescue in such a forested area.
