Essentially they are "toy soldiers" but miniature wargaming is a wide variety of games that you simulate combat under, and typically the vast majority of models/miniatures are ones you have to assemble and paint yourself.

I personally enjoy painting them, assembling is more of a chore with me but painting them is fun.

It is weird to say my hobbies are embarrassing but Im not embarrassed really.

I enjoy painting them much better than playing the game. I havent painted them in years tho. I still have most of my Necron army from when I was a teen. I gave some mohawks by filing down on their skulls and gluing one thread at a time together. It is pretty meditative to me. But putting them together kind of sucks, I agree.

What was the armies you painted?! Do you have pics?

I haven't painted them in years and since about the time I was a teen. I worked on some armies for people but just small units for them.

I am getting back into the hobby very soon, I have tons and tons of stuff stockpiled, I track down Harlequin branded Lizardmen constantly or Lizardmen stuff I don't have.

I have an army book for Dark Elves for Warhammer, a huge army of them including non GW stuff out the ass. For Christmas one year like two years back I started an army after getting a few dark elf minis from a bundle with old orcs&goblins, some lizardmen and dark elves. An old Wood Elf army book, like one single High Elf that I might use as a captive or something.

I mostly have Lizardmen stuff, Dark Elf Stuff and I plan to get a bunch of Black Tree Design and non citadel minis for Dwarf stuff. I don't have much for dwarves and not a ton for orcs and goblins, but I have shitloads of Harlequin lizardmen that are OOP and most make for a weird variant of the actual army.

I have A LOT of Skaven stuff, a lot of them are Harlequin/Black Tree minis but I plan to get ALL of those. I love Black Tree/Harlequin.

I do plan to get stuff from various people that could be used for Kings of War, for example a lot of people do bear rider cavalry so I would only be able to really use those in KoW but I like that dwarves have cavalry in that game.

I have the Operation Ice storm box set for Infinity, someone had Plast-Craft terrain for only a hundo on craig's list so I bought that because I was gonna buy it eventually anyway, I bought some old Dark Elves on Craig's list a while back.

I have a lot of Cryx for Warmachine, some wood elf/sylvaneth stuff.

I have the newer Skaven for Bloodbowl 2016. 

I guess all the warhammer fantasy stuff can be for Age of Sigmar too and Kings of War for the most part.

I have a small army of Tau for 40k and I hope to stay with one army for that game as long as I can LOL because I have so many armies that I am collecting for Warhammer
Fantasy as it is. Not to mention that i like to fill my armies out with tons of non citadel stuff for variety.

That sounds pretty fun. Would be fun to take pics of the war scenes.

Do u make cool sounds during the epic battles?

I wouldnt mind making a mini tank battle in a forest.

My ex had the Tau army and Space Wolves. My friends, who were brothers had shit ton of Space Marines as well as some Dark Eldars and Orcs. And my bf had a bunch of Space Marines too.

I wish I got better at the shading with the painting. Absolutely amazing. Ugh I have had a craving to paint these for a few years again. I still have a ton of my dudes I havent started painting on. I still have to put them together too. Gotta stock up on paints for em.

I would love to get my son into them. He has already grown an interest but might be too young still.

Skaven/rats are so awesome! I've been on bit of a rat model obsession lately. A few C47 Citadel are proving elusive.
The Black Tree are great aren't they, Grenadier Ratscum are on my list too.

Did you manage to get the Skaven dice for Blood Bowl? :laugh:
I've got the new teams, and the past metal skaven teams. 3rd party stuff does look better than GW's new BB efforts IMO. Greebo's new kickstarter is :awesome:

I like to collect wood planks and attempt to build things,

It works out 50/50 as I've never taken shop in school.

I have a weird desire to build a tree-house for me to live in.

I did get some Marauder era skaven, single minis that someone had a bunch of that I got with something else I bought. I can definitely clean some people out on stuff like that.

Grenadier Ratscum are definitely on my list along with a bunch of other stuff they have. They still print all of that so it's going to look great with everything else. Very ragtag, very mixed in with modern stuff.

I plan to eventually order a shitload of bits to build out these kits. It's cheaper to analyze and find what parts you need from the various bits shops than buy two kits and have tons of extra parts.

The Skaven dice are something I want to get eventually. I bought some Cryx dice because it was 50% off and the game store owner suggested it. I do think it's important to have some good dice, it's hard to explain why, but game company dice tend to be better and you can still buy a pack of dollar store colored dice to go with them.
