For the same cost as the new top of the line iMac I could build a PC with literally everything 2-10x as powerful/voluminous as the iMac - they don't even use fucking top of the line processors on their 2.2k computers they're so cheap. It would cost you approx 3,500$ from apple for a computer that's remotely, yet still not even comparably powerful to the 1,500$ system I'm building :rofl:

I've always thought this. I hate their interface, and I hate that Windows tried to emulate it, somewhat, with window 10. I prefer Windows 7, or even XP style. I had way more access to the software guts of my computer, but now they have made it more idiot proof. I haven't learned much about Windows 10, because it's not worth it to me, tbh. Not if they are just going to make entirely new interfaces in the future.

I will say though, I think iPhones used to be more durable than Samsung. Although, that doesn't seem to be the case with the latest of each. I like that Android has a lot more apps, but I don't necessarily need 50 different choices for each specific type of app.

I got an iphone as a gift a few years back and used it for awhile, around the time they spurned google for their own map app... which it turns out.... fucking sucked so bad :rofl: It was practically unusable. That's all it took to convince me to switch. As far as durability.. right now I have the s7 active which is built like a fucking tank, is virtually waterproof, and the battery lasts for like 3-4 days... perfect for spelunking :awesome:

:lol: Yeah. Everyone knows that it goes Mac -> Windows -> Linux in how much each OS predetermines things and holds your hand. It's fine if that's what you like - but that's the reality of it.

That was one specific tablet that's being recalled - not mein.

Tech has ridiculous problems sometimes you know. Remember the iphone 6 easily bending in half in peoples pockets because the alloys were so weak?

Oil is great for phones!

I'm not 100% where you live, I'm guessing somewhere somewhat rural... but I was living in one of the most dense complexly laid out cities in the country... apple simply had shit intel about what the streets were like, what was a 1 way - what was open and closed.... things that google has incredible amounts of data regarding. I know how to run their app. The information in it just sucked. I literally would just open web pages and run google maps over the phone instead lmao.

I wanna go spelunking! I live in the desert. Fuck my life.

Right now I have the S6, and I like it. I have an otterbox case, so this thing can take a lot of abuse. I think people get weird about phones. I didn't even have a cell phone for like a year before my gf made me buy one. No, I wasn't born in a cave... to spelunkers... btw.

Essentially I just like it as a tool to map out and store information on ridiculous backroad hikes that take you dozens of miles into deep wilderness. The small, pretty decent camera is awesome for quick fungi photography - though I don't necessarily care to be contacted wherever. Fortunately coverage doesn't allow that :wink:
