Awesome Matai, good stuff... I like to leave the little ones to, sucks to know they will get taken by others, even if there is only a couple. I find the 3 hour walks etc half the bonus to these hunts. It's cool finding a new patch but stink not needing to find one to. No doubt next time you go back it will be overgrown with those bad boys!

My perseverance has paid off and I can claim the title of third (almost) confirmed find in Dunedin this season! <3 <3

Damn, that's a nice little pile... I ate all five I had and watched Carl Sagan's Cosmos haha. Good stuff, potent little buggers.

I was just reading you post. Well done!! Your first find?

This is a new patch I found today. I'm really stuffed though I was still picking when it had gone dark and then I got lost!! Did an extra k or 2 to get back to the car.

Just as well I had my torch. Good to have it in your pack just in case.

Yes it was I just checked it out yesterday and everything looked right. It was near the sea which I haven't seen many posts about here.

They do blue really well. I think though my camera has a blue colour bias. A bluing camera haha.

Wow... that's insane... I hope you collected as much as you could while they were about!

Yup! First find ever, pretty stoked. Really close and convenient too, so I don't have to worry about getting lost a couple of km from my car :wink:

Up in the hills of Wellington found a nice haul of liberty. Super keen to get back to subs and find a decent amount of sub sectoids this year as was almost solely finding weraroa last fall.

Who knows where the photo could be? :wink: This is in a planter box, it's been going hard for a couple of weeks now, there is a sprinkler system that makes them fruit a little earlier than most patches. Popping up everywhere now tho!

Here's one I found yesterday. I don't know what is going on with the white edge of the cap there.

Yes it made me double check for bluing, etc and take a pic. There were only the two like that.

The White rim is just remnants of the Partial Veil. In areas with little wind or no rain the partial veil remnants can stick to the edge of the cap. Often it's blown or washed away before we get to see it.

Im so jealous! Me and 3 friends went searching in rotorua for 3 hours and foun nothing but 2 pins in spots where we would have been finding tonnes last year around this time. Hopefully this rain heading our way will help out :frown:
