There are 2 main seasons each year. In the US we're just beginning our spring season. Depending on where you are in Australia your fall season may be ending, under way, or just about to start.
The best way to find out is to go into the fields and forests near where you live and see what you find. The fall season is usually the more productive one each year. You could also try finding somebody locally who hunts mushrooms and ask them about your mushroom season locally.
Good luck!

If you are in a subtropical to tropical climate the season for mushrooms is over we had a bumper year with Copelandia cyanescens and Psilocybe cubensis. If you are in temperate regions the season is about to begin.. look for woodloving Psilocybes in pine mulch and eucalypt mulch after a cold snap and some rain.. Psilocybe subaeruginosa, Psilocybe eucalypta.

I think you're out of luck. The Cubensis/Cyanescens seasons is coming to a close here, it's getting too cold. There would surely still be a few around, but I suspect they'd be getting harder to find. Have a look in cow paddocks the day after substantial rain.
Dunno about woodlovers, maybe someone else can advise you on them. For those in the know, the temp here is all over the place, but I'd say the day's max is averaging about 22 deg C (That's about 71.5 on the yanky scale) and getting much colder overnight.
