There is no genetic difference between a male and a female except for the extra male genes on the Y chromosome, but the Y chromosome can be inactivated by hormones. A genetically XY male has still inherited a full set of female genes from his mother, genes which can be activated hormonally.

Further, you don't know what chromosomes I have. Hell, I don't. Many trans people have hidden intersex conditions. I know a trans woman who has XX chromosomes. Don't assume things.

You're the one popping into this thread with a wall of text completely focused on me, my life, and specific comments I made a year ago... It's actually pretty weird.

Wrong thread Sophie... actually, could you start a thread where you only rant about trans issues?

I'm actually really interested in the topic, and didn't mean to diss you or anything, but re-reading these arguments on completely irrelevant posts are getting pretty annoying. You should start a science based thread (with citations from medical journals) on the actual physiological traits of trans-women and genetic components that go into a transformation. Link it to your signature and just point to it anytime people try to start shit.

He definitely has a point. You claim unnecessary body modification makes you shiver, yet you are transexual? Super ironic. Changing sex is the epitome of unnecessary body modifications.

Block him then and ignore his bullshit. I would be very interested in a thread detailing the transformation process from a physiological and psychological standpoint, I'm specifically curious as to the genetics component which you claim. I simply don't have the time to put a significant amount of research into all the different variables that effect trans people, otherwise I would create the thread myself.

So, please? Pretty please with hash on top? It would prevent a large amount of fuckery in the future and be super interesting.

Yeah including at the McDonalds where these people worked. I was reading an article of his where he contrasted surveillance with "sousveillance", a term that I think he may have coined. I think it basically refers to recording by individuals. "Mcveillance" was another one and I'm not sure how it all fits in, but I think the "Mc" is in reference to this McDonald's incident.

I think that surveillance cameras should be switched over to LIDAR systems, they are far better at reconstructing events and would not be as intrusive.

Here is a video of a LIDAR visualization:

With a couple of these systems on every block (networked), you could accurately reconstruct 3d events that happened throughout the day. Not to mention the advantages presented when it comes to police responding to an active shooter or other crazy (pinpoint location, number of medical support personnel needed).

Surveillance cameras are so 20th century.

LOL, no, I'm taking part in a public discussion and am focused on the topic at hand. I used past statements of yours that I felt were relevant to the discussion, and I demonstrated why. Is there a time limit on remembering or applying relevant information to a discussion? Seriously, why are are going into victim mode instead of just having a conversation and asserting your own viewpoints. That's just stupid. "Oh, I can't provide a rational argument for my blind knee-jerk hate and hypocrisy! That's clearly your fault for remembering things I said in the past!", LOL.

You can't activate a Y chromosome in a female when it doesn't exist, can you? And being intersex/hermaphrodite is different thing than being a transsexual. There are physiological and neurological differences between men and women, which you don't seem to understand for whatever reason. And melanin can be altered hormonally as well, but you still feel that someone is a piece of shit for pretending to be a different "race", while you feel completely justified for pretending to be a different sex. And you don't even feel like someone needs to take hormones to be legitimately "trans" and be considered a real member of the opposite sex in the first place, so you wouldn't have a point there anyway.

No matter how many hormones you take, it still requires surgery to alter your sexual anatomy and it will never function like the real thing and will just be a facade anyway, and the physical structure of your brain will still be the same regardless. So when you think about it, there is less tangible genetic difference between "race" than there is sex. I'd be interested to see any evidence that proves any of my views wrong, but so far it just seems like you're being a hypocritical bigot over this guy's choice of body modification because it's different than yours and doesn't fit neatly into your worldview.

You think it's a fundamental right that all people should be able to pretend to be a different sex, but don't want blind people to gain the ability of sight.

I don't really blame them. I know i get pissed when random people start taking pics of me in public or record me on video.

Was assault necessary? Probably not.

Should you be able to have a camera right in my face just because it has an app that makes your life easier? Fuck no.

Re: Cyborg hate crimes [Re: John Nada]

i think there's a big difference between security camera's for corporations, and everyone running around with camera's taking video's of people.  Even in public there IS a reasonable amount of privacy expected.  Which is why a guy running around stairing at girls ass's will get locked up in jail if he makes it too obvious.  so whats the difference between that and him recording ass's?  well the recording will get him locked up too 'if' caught doing it for that purpose.  It might depend on the case but in this stupid world its safe to say someone has been locked up for doing it.  That said most people do get away with it, but the bottom line is its not polite to record people without their permission, except for security camera's.

and then the counter argument is whats the difference between a random public person recording you and a business?  the business is doing it strick ly for security, whereas most of the people doing it in public are doing it to shame you, make fun of you, post  your shit on youtube for everyone to embarrass you, ect.

lastly, if u catch the wrong person on the wrong day at the wrong time and he didn't want to be recording, you might end up floating in a river somewhere, so thats something to keep in mind as well

it should be law that u can't be recorded unless a crime is being committed or u have that persons permission, its really that simple.

also alot of people defend all these invasions of privacy because they say it will eventually lead to the government being forced to be more 'open' or that it will be impossible for them to hide shit.  and quite simply that is 100% false.  The government will control all this shit to protect themselves, you're all fools if u think they won't.  Remember its 'technology' not a newspaper, if they want it gone, it will be gone in the future.  right now u might be right, but the path this is going down isn't, its in its infancy all this technology.  Black mirror had a good few episodes about all this showing some examples of it.  but quit simply anything can be controlled, and they will to their benefit.

So with that stupid thought out the window all that leaves is giving up privacy, for what, so people can laugh at u?  So you can lose your job because someone caught u doing something that isn't "PC"? ect ect...

Yeah, but he wasn't even recording them though. Those images that were being processed wouldn't have even been stored as stills if those french redneck guys who ganged up on him didn't damage the device by attempting to pull it out of his fucking skull. I'm just glad they didn't cause him brain damage or injure him seriously. He even explained it to them and had a doctor's note they read and they still went apeshit, haha.

Honestly, I'd rather some lone creep record me in public than some massive international corporation with billions of dollars though, so I don't really get the logic behind people being okay with McDonalds recording and storing video of them, but not an individual with no more resources than themselves doing it. All of our phone and internet communications are susceptible to surveillance now, if they're not already being stored and parsed for trigger words, and most of our activity out in public in most cities is on video these days, but let's get pissed at an individual guy taking pictures of us, even when he's not? Haha. Not being okay with surveillance is fine, but people are focusing on the wrong things.

what does the 1st amendment have to do with recording people?  and obviously when they wrote that they didn't think people would be recorded 24/7 everywhere they go.  so as the anti-gun nuts would say, 'they didn't intend for it to mean this, it needs to get with the times, we need more restrictions'

but again the difference between citizens and corps is that the recording by corps they arn't going to go post the shit on youtube to mock you, or to get you fired, or to break you up with your gf.  One is being used for crime, the other is being used by women and 'clicks' to bicker and start drama.  people want to know how to address the mental health issues well right here is one of them, less drama less people's brains getting overloaded.  Some people clearly don't like being under the spot light, alot of people are self conscious, ect ect.  This is why you see not 1, but THREE people assault the guy allegedly because its clearly an issue for some people.  its funny in any other similar situation women would be screaming for laws to be passed on this, but for some reason they don't care about this one.  could it be, because they dream of this technology to control the world?

again all it allows is drama, what benefit is there other than people want to add more video's to youtube to try and hit it rich?

a tad bit more ontopic for the specific article, you will notice the guy himself admits he 'sat near the window' to 'watch people passing by'  he was a teacher and most likely also doing a little bit of a social experiment, i would bet he was being abnoxious about it, and trying to make it look like he was recording people in a rude way to see their reaction and show these reactions to his friends.  he had a fuckin doctors note on him ffs, as well as an excuss for having it on him, the guy sounds like a trouble maker

yah im sure there's many ways criminals will use it and similar mods.  also remember this turns everyone into the 'security' which means the criminals have to 'disable' you before creating a crime, which everyone is assumeing makes crime less likely to happen and the world safer.  in reality it makes the world less safe because it means every crime will have to involve lots of bad things happening:cookiemonster:

right now if someone wants money they just go up, take it, and hope to run away with it.  with this, it means alot more has to happen up front to pull it off and still get away, which means u better really think those youtube video's are worth it.  crime will always happen as long as people run and hide from the real issues, no amount of technology will put food in your stomache or give you the things that make life worth living, which means till those things are fixed and even then, you will still have people breaking the law to get what they want/need.  you definitally need some security otherwise everyone will just take things, but after a certain point you take it too far and you create more problems than you began with.  and incase before forgot we have a runaway government that wants more and more power, if you don't start putting your foot down on such obvious and blatant power grabs the future you end up with won't be worth living in at all.

What about prosthetic legs? People could use them to kick the shit out people. Also, pacemakers, maybe they could be used to give people hearts strong enough to be impervious to stun guns!? I have no basis for this supposition, but I will fear it anyway. These people might even be drug users or other kinds of criminals! Let us take to the streets now and pitchfork the shit out of the physically disabled. I don't care if you're blind, you shouldn't be able to have vision since your bionic eye looks like a surveillance camera to me and my simple simian sensibilities.
