As i pay my duty to the trees...

It makes me wonder what this big guy prays for. Good soil, clean rain, most importantly a clean earth. This guy is about 60 years old, to top it off they live to be over 150 years. I pray to this old banyon tree. Live on tree, live on.

P.S. It's a great climbing tree too!

I remember one part specificly of this dream i had last week, I remember I was taking these odd shaped leaves from a big tree, and when I finished I neeled down and kinda prayed to it to say thank you. Then I woke up into a less vivid but more real state of mind.

So, like, you say that trees live to be 150 years old. Do trees die of old age? Can't a tree just keep on keeping on? I mean, if there is a fire or a lumberjack, a tree can die at any age, but why does a tree have to die at 150 years?

some trees can live for thousands of years (redwoods, oaks, some pines..) assuming they do not succumb to disease or torn down by man or natural disaster. The oldest known tree is 4,700. Some trees only live 10 or maybe 100 years.

then again, maybe trees can live forever. since there are 4,700 year old trees.. that are still alive..

Different types of trees have different age limits. Redwoods are pretty much the oldest, or amongst the oldest trees around, they quite often get to be around 1500 years old, and I'm pretty sure they can be even older. On the other hand certain species of Pines are usually not a lot older than 100, maybe 150. Western Red Cedars and Douglas Firs get pretty aged too, there are quite a few reaching or over a thousand.
