Talking to Trees
    #4901747 -

It's been really nice weather wise here in central Texas. Also it's fall and the trees look beautiful. Anyways...I got really stoned today during a game of disc golf...and was thinking about how we "talk" with nature.

It's weird how....things in nature (birds, how the wind blows the trees, flowers and bugs, the slopes of hills, the way trees and plants resemble human life, and the cycles of nature) can be taken as "signs" or inspire a thought or an idea.....

i feel really connected to everything when I'm in touch with nature.

today i was thinking about trees and how they remind me of a brain...and then thinking about how the earth could be a brain and the trees are like either dormant or active neurons in the brain and how fall with the leaves changing colors and falling to the ground how it could symbolize synaptic connections forming or ceasing to exist (i feel like nature is really good for my brain sort of like listening to music...or more like looking at art)....

i also thought about how we have relationships with certain trees....like one in your back yard....
it's almost like you have to clean up after it when it starts balding (falling leaves)...a lot of times i can see human faces in trees and their leaves and branches are like hair. sometimes the faces i see in trees are so intricate and i can come up with a whole series of events of why the tree has that expression....and what kind of teaching it has.

At least for me, they can be like a parent, a sibling or best friend.
Your post made me remember what trees meant to me as a kid.  I grew up in the country on 12 acres carved out of the woods by my Dad.  We had two HUGE live oaks right outside the side entrance to our house.  Their trunks were at least five feet in diameter and their canopies were at least fifty feet in diameter.  They were perfect for climbing, swinging from and hiding in.  I must have spent half of the first ten years of my life in those trees and they knew all my secrets and fears.

Thanks for reminding me of that!

For some people, it is a frightening risk. To me, that's the psychedelic experience."

that's awesome man.....playing in trees is great.....it's weird (yet nice) to have an emotional feeling for a certain tree.

Interesting timing. About 30 minutes ago I was outside taking logs from my shed and stacking it on the porch... listening to some music at the same time. And dancing alot. Then suddenly, something to do with the music (lyrics especially), dancing and the clear night sky full of stars and a crescent moon moved me to run to the Japenese Cherry tree in my yard and give it a biiiiiig hug!!!!!

It's interesting when the fall comes and the leaves turn to their natural colors. The Chlorophyl that covers the real pigment of the leaf is gone. Then for a moment we see a world of amazing color and we remember to really look at these elders of the world. I hope they are here long after I depart.

i have a hard time connecting with individual trees....

but when you submerge yourself in a real forest, far from any people... its a truly holy experience. i think of it as this "forest mind" every organism in that forest is like one cell in this massive concious body... and you just let go of yourself and become one with it... sink into that larger mind.... the forest is pure soul healing man, i must return soon...

Once on Ayahuasca and mushroom mix I found myself talking to a tree and seriously asking for some help. Which I got by loving that tree.

Me and my mom were sitting on our porch looking around at all of the fiery looking trees, and she said something along the lines of "The colours of death are incredibly beautiful." It caught my attention, and I realized how true it is, something that goes un-noticed way too often.

41 was at the grave yard on Friday, and the trees there were so magnificent. Large and in scale, so to speak. They towered over tombs and we were right next to it. No wonder dieing in the woods makes so much sense.
