Yeah, actually God just stuck all that archeological evidence there in order to test people's
faith, just like it says in Revelations 12:44 "And the Lord God shall stick dead crap in rocks
and ice, drawing the serpent from the midst of the lambs/  And then God'll kick those who deny
his word in the groin, and suchlike"

Clearly this is just another sign that the Bible is the unerring Word of God!  Praise and Glory!!!

I don't understand. Why do you say "in your face" to the Christian Fundamentalists?

Besides my being childish and immature, in my eyes this completely defrauds everything fundamentalists have to say about the origin of mankind.

Because according to the Bible the world's only like 4000 years old.  So the Bible's wrong.
So those who interpret the Bible as being ABSOLUTELY right and the EXACT word of God (A.K.A.
Christian fundementalists) are wrong.  And they tend to be smug bastards, so it's nice to be
able to shove stuff in their faces.  It's relaxing, a great stress-reliever, really.  Not that
being proving wrong ever impacted Faith.  Which is kinda neat, really.  And if I've annoyed
any christian fundementalists on this board, my apologies.  I meant 'smug bastard' in a nice
way...  :smirk: :smirk: :smirk:

It's not all fundementalist's that adhere to this timeline, but it is enough to be really iratating. I think it was some idiot 19th century philosopher that got this whole 4004 beginning of the world thing rolling and I can't remember his name.

edit I.C. Scofield was his name and he didn't start it osme idiot bishop from ireland did

I don't really think they were idoiots

You guys are funny.

I don't think I'm a Christian Fundamentalist.  I believe in the Bible, though.  But I also don't remember Christians saying that the world is only 4000 years old.  Maybe I've been brain-washed too much by the likes of people like you?

Really? I thought the Bible had some dates. Mind you, I've never really read the thing, so
I expect I'm wrong... Not as wrong as those 4004-year-old-worlders, though, so that's a bit
of a relief.

The "begats" were in the first 5 books of the bible, and my understanding is that the first 5 books are somewhat erroneous. You can't really trust them. Something like that.

"...the first 5 books are somewhat erroneous. You can't really trust them."

Well, I can tell you right now you're not a christian fundementalist. As I recall the
definition of christian fundementalist was that they believe that the Bible is the Word of God
and as such it can't be wrong or erronous or mistranslated or anything, as God would act to
ensure that the purity of his Holy Book would remain intact.

"even more boring than the LOTR..." Yeah, plus the LOTR isn't so preachy.
