7/27/15 Florida hike/mushroom forage

WOW what a day it was! we saw so many awesome species of mushrooms and it was just great overall.

i have no idea what this was. it was jelly like but solid on the outside. there's a picture in someone's sig, not sure who but i have a feeling they are related (i know that's pretty vague)

Ganoderma sp. on oak


Psilocybe Cubensis


bracket fungi on Palm tree, don't know what species it is



these little fungi were growing within a hollowed/rotted out base of a palm tree, no idea what they are


some kind of strange poly pore?

Pygmy Rattlesnake! i was the one who almost stepped on him/her this time. awesome speciemen, as a fully grown adult, it was pretty small at a foot to foot and a half




monster cubensis. holy shit! that thing was as large as my face.

The polypore is Favolus tenuiculus
And the one below the second cube could be a bolete

You have Ganoderma curtisii growing from that oak and the bracket on the palm tree is Ganoderma zonatum.

The ones with the description "these little fungi were growing within a hollowed/rotted out base of a palm tree" are Coprinellus disseminatus group.

"some kind of strange poly pore?" is Favolus tenuiculus and "yellowish underside growing on oak" is a bolete of some type.
