Picking mushrooms at 3am in central florida rules (sorta)

So I went out last night and picked some mushrooms. It was cool because of the full moon and the shortness of the grass and the decent amount of finds but not cool because apprearantly I didnt eat enough. I did felt a little weird but no trips insued. It was the first time I had eaten mushrooms I picked personally, rather than eat the ones my friends had picked. They were whitish-brown with fairly short stems and bark purple-black gills which I identified as cubensis (by means of this faq). Is it possible that they were just abnormally impotant? I ate 2.5 large caps and a few stems. Ill have pictures soon.

too hard to tell if you don't know how much weight you ate, that coulda weighed less than a gram dried for all you no

well if he did get it right i cant see a couple of caps and stems being enough really to give full on effects.

Maybe wait until its a bit brighter so you can see the mushrooms properly :laugh: theres no reason to pick at 3am...

I'd be kind surprised if they were misidentified, cause he said he's eaten fresh specimins before that his friends had picked...

if he was sneaking onto someones property.. ..why would he want to go in the daytime.? And if he wasn't..I still would think it would be better to go before the hot blazing sun comes down and shrivels them all to hell...so that leaves until maybe 8 am ...

Hello, Well, This is another tale of the Shroom, because,

You may have gotten your hands on the actual fungus growing inside of a Florida cow pasture, but,
-You did not know what precisely it what you were picking, so,

There is a great difference how i see a Psilocybe cubensis in the field, i know precisely which species of mushroom that is within a split second of glancing at that mushroom i know what species it is,

But you, You could have this very mushroom in your hand and still wonder, um, Are these the right ones??

Anyways,

The Shroom weather is not here in Florida right now. It is weird.

We have even had some recent sprinkles of rain but it has made no difference.

The first day of the Florida season is each year set by, his majesty the Shroom_Wizard of Jacksonville Florida.
-And that day is usually around the 15th of May.
This is when the chlidren tend to begin retreating to the fields to fill their bodys with the holy sacrament of Copelandia and also the Psilocybe Cubensis children of the filed.  :smile:

Ugh man... Yeah I'm over here in Gainesville... are you sure they were cubensis? we have a lot of mushroom types growing around... id say at least post a pic to shroomery with spore print and location found and what it was growing on etc to the hunting dicussion before eating any more 'identified' shrooms.
