Music to listen to while on Ayahuasca?

I've started to consider music for my Aya trip in two weeks.

I bought a CD that has Icaros on it, recorded live at a traditional Ayahuasca ceremony in the Amazon. I thought since this is my first time, the guidance from the shaman would transmit from the CD and assist me through my journey.

What music have you all perferred to listen to while on Ayahuasca?

Any suggestions?

so far my only music preference is silience, anything else is aaaaaah make it stop!.

When I tripped hard on ayahuasca I tried listening to the song, "Shpongle - DMT." That song is usually cool when sober, but on ayahuasca it freaked me out. It seemed like the music was grabbing the insides of my body and ripping them out twisting them all over the room. I agree with the above poster. Silence, or at least nature, is best.

It is Ayahuasca Songs from the Peruvian Amazon.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I think I'll just go with what I feel at the moment, whether that means silence or music.

I'll bring a variety of music just in case.  I'll also be in nature, so I might enjoy just listening to the bugs.  :smile:

you could listen to those ayahuasca shaman, etc. tracks in your spare 2 weeks.
then take the ayahuasca with silence. Maybe the music and 'guidance' will be fresh in your mind? to inspire your trip maybe.

listen to the icaros for sure. Good luck on the ayahuasca trip, I'm sure you'll have an amazing time. Thats one of those experiences I've filed under "some day," good on ya for going ahead and doing it.

The more I think about it, the more I think I will try this experience in silence, or make my own music. The vets over at Ayahuasca.com recommended that I try and create my own icaros. I sort of like that idea.

outside in a natural setting. something a little more rugged than your back yard is desirable. though a back yard is much better than inside. as far as music goes i don't find it necesary. whenever i experience DMT/Ayahuasca i find music to be a heavy distraction and even a neusance. Ayahuasca isn't a trip. it's a form of prayer and spiritual cleansing. what should you do while Experiencing? just close your eyes and let your soul take care of the rest. you will travel to far and beautiful lands and meet some interesting people/entities...learning more than ever imagined. Ayahuasca is in no way a "drug", it's an extremely wise medicine and should be approached with only respect. if you go into it with a tainted attitude the spirits will not have mercy. as long as you respect it as sacred, then you will be given the vision you need for spiritual clarity. yet, it is up to you to apply what you have learned.

Meshuggah's Catch33 album is my fav. One of my fav metal albums. I like the broken rhythms. I actually used to play similar rhythms on distorted keyboard before I listened to this. These are the rhythms that flowed from my mind for a long while.
