This is a great resource. I just started going to a Dialectical Group Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness is what we are actually studying right now. This is a

free group too. We start off each session with a mindfulness meditation. Something you guys might want to look into. I am sure most major cities

people should really look into this route first. But myself included with the lazy Americans, I wanted a quick fix. The only thing I got was hooked on 

another shitty drug. The paxil did do what I needed it to but the side effects are not worth it.

So basically anyone that takes that quiz has at least "potential" ADHD unless they answered never on every question.
Isn't that some balogna?

All that jazz about it being over diagnosed, being a condition for big pharma to make more money off their drugs, and it being something treatable are all things I agree with.

I remember in elementary school 5 or 6 kids (out of around 20) in my class alone supposedly had ADD/ADHD. They marched their little butts every single day into the nurse's office before lunch to take their meds.

When I look back on it now it seems like some sort of dystopian future where big companies control people from birth by force feeding them unneeded medicines. Sadly we live in this dystopian future and more people every day are misdiagnosed in order for the corporations to put money in the bank.

TL;DR: ADHD is a lie! Most of the time...

:shrug: I agree with you for the most part. I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on the matter. I don't think it's real at all. It's a medication to fix bad parenting in children, for the most part.

Probably 99 percent, I would imagine actually.

That's a really good point. I'd imagine that Canada prescribes them just as much, and that it's all of the Americas.

I know when I was in school, way more than one in ten kids was medicated, more like 3 of 10.

well a lot of it depends on how you go about surveying to find this information. I figure going through people's medical files is illegal

so a lot of it depends on how you ask. "Do you think you have ADHD" would yield a yes in most of the population. All college kids I have met say that they have ADHD.
Also, in some schools, i imagine the higher class ones, kids will be more readily diagnosed. When I went to school in  poorer neighboorhood (versus an affluent one later in life), kids were much more readily diagnosed. In poorer neighborhoods, I feel almost that the teachers themselves didnt really give a fuck nearly as much about a child's induvidual needs.

Also, by the time they hit high school, I imagine workloads are increasing and the kids themselves believe and tell themselves they have ADHD

I was diagnosed and put on adderal in 4th grade. Is ADD made up? No. I do have attention problems. Mind races. Too much at times. Do ADD children need to be put on meds? Fuck no. This whole sit down shut up read system is possibly one of the worst teaching systems. Not everyone learns the same. Me personally, you can tell me how to do something 3 times, I'll retain for a bit then forget. You can SHOW me how to do something by having me physically doing it alongside you and I will remember for ever. Peoples brains work differently and the fucking psychiatrists think the best option is to deliver a foreign chemical into the bloodstream. After watching them fuck with my brother who is manic depressive, trying medication after medication as if the decision making came out to a draw out of a fucking hat. "oh lets try this one, made him suicidal and try to off himself? okay well lets try this one, nah? still massive mood swings? violence?" I personally don't like psychiatrists, same level of hell is reserved for them along side the lawyers and bankers.

Read my post lol. people dont seem to understand that ADHD is simply a symptom. ADHD wasn't nearly diagnosed as much before poor quality fats, carbs and low quality meats were a part of the american diet
Add flouride, stress, poor sleep, increased drug use, and you have kids who have attention problems
