I use a regular lighter, I smoke it in joint form, and use a very small amount of 5x and the rest is regular leaf. It's always worked for me, but it's also supposed to be the worst way. I have broken through many times and have hit SALVI (I have no desire to go to the A stage of Amnesia). I'm sorry it hasn't worked for you though. It is simply incredible.

I ussually end up coming down dripping in sweat almost. Even when I don't get the full effects, I sweat, so i don't believe its just like its that intense and i start sweating, I just think the salvinorin affects the sweat glands. It's a negative side affect to a wonderful drug (my person favorit drug that is.)

Also another way to experience salvia is to hold in in your mouth sort of like chewing tabacco, for about two hours, it tastes pretty bad but that is the threshold, two hours then you dont get a 5 min trip, u trip for about 12 hours extremely intensely, some say it is second only to DMT, my friend has tried it and said this, i have yet to try this but it is just another method out there,

I dont really know how some people dont break through, natural tolerence or whatever ...

But when ive smoked salvia with people, i would pose them with the situation - Get the smoke from *that* through your lungs as fast and hard as possible. Even enormous bowls, Just power toke that stuff and take the pain, you'll forget about it shortly anyways.

You CANNOT use a regular lighter. If you dont want to break through, use a regular lighter. Regular lighters are not at all hot enough to break through, i tried it many times. Read shit before you post a false statement like that. Peace

Well... really it is hot enough, I have used a regular lighter and broken through, so have others, maybe you just had bad luck or did it wrong. Perhaps you should read up a little more before making presumptuous statements.

I generally only post my own experiences. I have broken through more times than I can count with a regular lighter, 5x standard, my trusty chamber pipe, and a good mental attitude. I am living proof that I do not need a torch lighter to break through. I have read from many others that they have broken through with a regular lighter as well. Perhaps some people need a torch lighter to break though... I don't know... all I can speak for is myself.

Perhaps YOU cannot break through with a regular lighter, but I can.

Yep me too, I also use a regular lighter, with a big flame though.
I really don't think it matters that much, I once tested a torch and it didn't seem to work much better.

salvia can be pretty crazy. but dont do it if you have an anxiety disorder, i have seen people unable to handle it ;p a torch lighter does work best, but salvias effects dont seem to me to be as thoughtful or interesting as other things. it will make you quite confused though, and most of the people i have seen hit the extract are unable to speak for a few minutes. i found it sort of uncomfortable, like i was out of control

when dealing with salvia, a bong and torch lighter is ESSENTIAL. Everytime I've come in contact with salvia its been a very pleasant experience. Good stuff  :thumbup:

*yawn* I get so tired of hearing this...

I have only smoked salvia with a bic lighter and a chamber pipe and have broken through every single time. Perhaps the bong and torch lighter are a must for some people, but not for everybody. I have read many other reports from people that have used a regular lighter and a regular pipe with no problems at all. Perhaps it is the bong that forces the torch lighter issue...

Twice I have tried smoking regular plain leaf using a glass pipe and a regular lighter but have only felt very mild effects. I might go out and buy 5x, but I don't want all that plain leat to go to waste. I was thinking I make a bong to try and get bigger hits, does anyone know of any good websites for making home made bongs?

I didn't break through until I smoked 15x extract from a bong. Then I really knew what salvia was all about!

The chewing/maceration method will make the trip last longer so more "work" can be accomplished. Maybe a small hit can be had after chewing for around 15 minutes for a breaktrough dose then the "chaw" will give a prolonged dose. For those that feel the Salvia trip is too short, try the Chewing method. Later.

I posted this in another thread sorry for the double post, but was interested in what other people had to say. it seems like everyone who describes a salvia trip is describing astral travel or an out of body experience. Everything from the disconnection of soul and body to the tunnel effect and crazy "hallucinations". You can do this naturally through shear will if you read up on it...william buhlman is a great author on the subject. I will try some salvia where's a good place to buy it (the extract in the u.s.)?

Choda, you can easily do a quick extraction on your plain leaf.
