becoming lucid
    #2052220 - 10/28/03 10:46 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

I was sitting on a hill watching the sunset when I became lucid. Instead of my usual mental status that consisted of overanalyzation and wandering day dream thoughts, I realized that what I was experiencing was reality and that it was happening before my very eyes. With this lucidity, I gained control over my emotions and I realized that I could control my waking life. Life experiences are now mine for the taking.

beautiful experience...it's like...why do we stress ourselves out and worry and do things we don't want to do when there are sunsets and rolling hills and the ocean and trees...

When i was a little kid i used to have lucid dreams and astro-projections (i think that's what its called when you sit in bed and it feels like you are rocking up and down/back and forth very quickly and you can turn it on and off...while being sober :ooo:) but i don't have either anymore .  i had some mild astro-projections the othe week but i couldn't keep them going very long or intense.  any tips for having lucid dreams? are your last thoughts before sleep about lucid dreaming and then they get transferred to your dreams?

Best lucid dreaming tips depend on your personality.
Since I'm obsessive, the best tip that worked for me
in the past was asking if I was dreaming during regular
waking life and making that questioning a habit.
I would read text to ensure that it didn't change
(in dreams text and other details change because
yer mind is creating them). After a while I discovered
that I would ask myself the question while dreaming
and realize that I was dreaming...
I no longer lucid dream cause I'm trying to keep
what little grasp of Reality I have left

Have you ever tried to meditate in a lucid dream?

Yup, I find it very hard to do anything in my lucid dreams,
I have very little control over them, strange, but I do
know that I'm dreaming.
Usually I can initiate stuff but then have no control over
what develops, e.g. I can start to fly but then I have no
control over the flight. In fact a couple of days ago I was
flying faster and faster in my lucid dream and couldn't
slow down or stop...it was scary...got faster n faster till
I paniced n woke up...

very refreshing that u thought of meditating in a lucid dream
:sun:
most people do it for sexual fantasies
not that there's anything wrong with that, but u're the
first person I heard mention meditating in a lucid dream.

my only lucid dreams i have spent trying to fly but i could only hover a couple inches over the ground. the other ones i went nuts and tried to jump on every girl i saw, but i knew i had to move fast because all i was thinking about was waking up.

I was just curious because I meditate but I still am not able to gain lucidity in my dreams. I think it would be excellent if I could spend my nights sleep meditating, much Progress could be made with that extra time. : )

In a lucid dream I had 2 summers ago I found cubensis and weiliis that were as tall as I was and after eating a few I started flying and I had complete control over where I went. While i flew farther and farther the multi colored patterns swirling around me became more and more intense until they were all I could see while flying fever aster. Leaving that and coming back to reality was not a happy voyage.

but just be grateful, that you got a taste of it while incarnated in physical form. We'll all be there again, someday..

Hey I did have one extremely strange lucid dream, it started of as being in my house then suddenly i was taken to an super intense extremly weird place which i dont remember anyting about.

But as soon as i returned i could controll everthing in my dream at a comple level. I could levitate 20 objects at once and have then zoom around me in a circle almost like a mini force field. I could easily control each object sepreatly. Then slowly I could feel this power fadeing and things became hard to control again. It was almost like i was super charged and then the power went.

I would say in half my dreams I get to the point where I say something is so ridiculous and strange, but I just can't brige the gap and say "oh man I must be dreaming."

I've only had two partial-lucid dreams, one I woke up in and couldn't control anything and it was really scary, and one I actually realized I was dreaming but it ended right away as soon as I tried to walk out of the room.

okay, i'm not used to talking about this, i'm used to thinking to myself without terms and labels, definitions. so perhaps i'm thinking of something differnt than you are.

I had an acid trip not too long ago, a couple weeks. And everything around me seemed to go so fast. It was pretty simple. I could continue my life as i am, not moving. Or i could get up, get out, and get going. I looked at the leaves, they never stood still. I looked at the grass, and they stood tall, rooted, but always moving. I was the only thing standing still in life. The world never stopped it's purpose. It knew what it was doing. I don't, i stay in one spot in fear of making the wrong move. And within 30 seconds i realized i just needed to go with my gut and start doing, stop thinking and analyzing every motion.

Would this be considered a lucid moment? Sorry if i'm way off.
