Re: Polyfil ironed out to create 'filter discs' :) [Re: tombosley8]

a sink spray helps get gunk off the lids. because i have those injection ports and the whatman filters, sometimes the grain gets stuck inside. so ill have to blast the grain out of the injection port hole. its a pita. i dishwash everything anyway just to get the gunk off the jars and lids.

is anyone having issues with the lids filters getting wet with the pressure cook?

Once and a while, but I always cover with tin foil.  No matter what, gives me peace of mind.

I run my lids thru the dishwasher, I just dump the whole box onto the top rack.  No muss no fuss.  I run the jars thru too.  Beats scrubbing out each one individually.

I am finally on board. I asked my wife tonight, do you have any EZ Felt. She was like of course, I also have polyfil. (shes a crafter)

Forget about going to the craft store I have one In my house.

Oh and good job dilated, you just put all of the SFD manufactures out of business. I LOVE THIS!!!

If a person didnt have immediate access to EZ felt, would it be possible to iron poly fill into a sheet? I dont imagine it would be as graceful and not look as good. So if a person made sure to make it 1/2 inch at least, do you think this would work?

Lol Well so it is. I followed a link to this thread so I suppose I jumped the gun a bit.  I was under the impression that it was EZ FELT being ironed, which is polyfill that is already pressed and ironed into a sheet. I'm just wondering if taking the fluffy stuff and ironing it will ultimately lead to the same outcome as using EZ Felt.

It's a bitch trying to iron the fluffy pillow stuffing type of poly. The sheets of quilt stuffing are much easier to work with and when ironed properly will essentially give you EZ felt.

You can't iron loose polyfil into a mat, it will just make a mess and if it can be done it will take you a long time.  This is polyfil "mat", you can iron it out and it creates a filter... and what Muda said ^
