Going to a week long silent meditation retreat
    #20350523 -

In a rural area, in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, silent meditation and teaching. Camping the whole time in a tent.

Vegetarian meals only, no alcohol or weed, no cellphone.

I am thinking this will be a really positive thing for me. Its always been on my bucket list, and this is just what I need to restart my spiritual life.

I was sponsored to participate by an anonymous donor. Normally it would have been like 450 bucks but for me its free.

I am excited and grateful.

Just wanted to share. I will write a bit about the experience after.

Thanks!

I am going to be taking powerful nootropics and meditating for several hours each day, also doing yoga, attending Dharma teaching sessions, reading buddhist literature and writing in a journal.

I am curious to see how much spiritual and meditative progress I can make in one full week.

Its going to be really interesting!

I am curious about the combination of nootropics and meditation, as both  have been shown to induce beneficial changes in the structure and function of the brain.

I hypothesize that a combination of nootropics and meditation could have a synergistic beneficial effect.

Specifically I will be taking phenylpiracetam and citicoline.

Hi guys !

I am at Buddhist retreat so I am not supposed to be using my phone but I am cheating

Hope you guys are all doing well!

I am loving this retreat ! Beautiful place, gorgeous Weather, delicious and healthy vegetarian meals, the Lama is super cool great vibes and a good teacher .

We are camping outside all week but we have all amenities , hot showers etc.

Right now I am sitting in the tea hut sipping organic rooibos and catching up with the shroomery while my phone charges .

Each day starts at 6 AM with a puja - a Buddhist ceremony .

Then breakfast , then at 8:30 am we have the morning teaching from the Lama. He is really great !

We learn about Buddhism, dharma , meditation and compassion and wisdom.

Then I do yoga in the sun , then lunch . At 3 pm we have afternoon teaching , then at 6:30 dinner.

All the rest of the time we do sitting meditation , walking meditation , yoga, reading spiritual books and journaling . :levitate:

It's only day 2 and honestly I feel amazing . I feel happy, calm , clear , healthy and optimistic .

I am looking forward to my private interview with the Lama.

I have been processing a lot of stuff and feeling so much better.

I bet by the end of the week I will be blissed out :bliss:

And my whole retreat was paid for by an anonymous sponsor !

I am so grateful !

After this retreat My wife , my best friend and I are going to be doing an ayahuasca ceremony with an authentic Peruvian shaman !

I am so stoked !

That will be the last thing on my bucket list . In the past few months I have done :

1. First Nations sweat lodge
2. Baptism
3. Crazy road trip to the top of a mountain resort in BC with friends , where I did MXE under a full moon and had the time of my life, and me and my best friend baptized each other (my second baptism  - "once in the flesh and once in the Holy Spirit")
4. Meditation retreat
5. My second ayahuasca ceremony (upcoming)

I am so happy and grateful I was able to do all of this in a short time . I owe It all to my wife , the greatest , most beautiful and amazing woman In the world

Love and dharma blessings to one and all!

Actually my wife just came out to drop off some valerian root, Bali Kratom and a phone charger , so I got to squeeze her boobs and kiss her tummy

That was nice.

Really I would recommend the retreat experience to Anyone.

I will definitely be doing more of these.

Maybe next time I will follow all the rules

Sounds cool, keep us updated. Just be careful compartmentalizing retreats and other experiences, I think the idea is to bring theses states of beings in all aspects of life.

I agree!

I intend to use this retreat as a launching pad, to firmly establish myself in a sadhana which I can then carry on as a daily practice for the rest of my life.

My intention  going forward is to do yoga for an hour a day and meditate for an hour a day, every day.

I really must say I am benefiting enormously from this retreat.

My mood and emotions are dramatically more positive already.

Just being outside in nature, sunlight and fresh air 24/7 is amazing .

I am learning a lot from the Lamas teachings and also cleansing my body by eating super healthy vegetarian sugar free meals and abstaining from alcohol and marijuana .

It feels so good to be part of a sangha , to have a guru and a sadhana.

Fortunately there is a dharma centre my wife an I attend each week to learn from a lama , practice
Meditation and commune with the sangha .

Buddhism is truly an amazing lifestyle , so rich In functional wisdom, practical discipline and grounded compassion.

This particular lama is an inspiring individual who I see as a great role model.

Each day is divided between puja (ceremony), teaching, sitting mediation and walkin meditation and yoga , as well as unique exercises the lama walks us through.

It is only day 3 and so much emotional burden has already been lifted from me.

I feel happy, healthy, calm, clear and optimistic about the future.

I feel this will be an excellent way to prepare for my upcoming ayahuasca ceremony.

Some day I plan to spend a few weeks in meditation retreat at an ashram or monastery , an another time in a forest.

But this is a perfect first retreat. I am so happy and grateful I was able to attend.

This really is just what I needed.

I've only done day retreats. Long retreats like that must be tough. I have a rough time with one days.

Keep goin' man.
