Caught a mouse.

Should I let my cat kill it, or flush it down the toilet? These are pretty much the options, I'm not keeping it as a pet.

I should also mention she helped me catch it. The first time she fucked up and just let it go. What a re-re, I shamed her a little bit. Then she wouldn't give up, and I fucked up and lost it.

She wouldn't stop starring at a spot, so eventually I took over and caught it. Okay back to the main question.

Either kill it, and throw it away, let it outside if it has a chance to survive, or let the cat torture it..

Would you chose to a) get killed with a strike to the head by say a hammer, or b) get drowned by someone flushing you in the toilet?  Or c) get tortured to death by a huge thing with claws...?

Me I would euthanize it, for instance by putting it in an atmosphere of pure inert gas (a double bagged plastic bag of nitrous comes to mind), or putting it in a big glass jar with a cotton ball soaked in ether, chloroform or trichloroethylene.

If you have a snap mousetrap and a tank you can setup a generally relatively merciful killing scenario.

If you give a healthy mouse to a cat either the mouse escapes and you're back to square one or you are being cruel and unusual by proxy. If you flush it thats just cruel. If you let it escape it becomes someone elses p[roblem anbd if you try to kill it yourself you risk escape and having to get a tetanus shot.

I would, I did before. They literally just come right back. I'm not going to try to smash it with a hammer, I would miss and fuck it up. He might have a chance down the pipes. Just trying to be a little fair.

In my country wild mice and rats are a Pest Animal by law and you are required by law to kill it.

Mice and rats may be cute but they also destroy 10% of the worlds food supply and more alarmingly, contaminate a lot more of it with piss and shit which DOES enter the human food chain.
