how come the last 3 republican presdents have..

ran the economy into the ground? on a side note i find it funny that there are conservatives that post on a drug site. conservative men in power are trying their best to destroy what is left of phsycadelic culture.

I think the economy thing has to do with Reaganomics, which is a load of crap. Previous Republican presidents didn't abide by such superstitious economics. As far as conservatives on this message board--well, the Drug War is being fought by both sides(the RAVE Act was introduced by a Democratic senator).

the market has a life of its own and it does its thing fairly independantly of executive decisions.

blaming (or crediting) the state of the economy to whatever particular president is in office is usually not a very accurate assessment.

Actually, judging the health of the economy based on prosperity isn't all that useful...

The real economic problem is the debt. Eventually, it reaches a point where the entire system fails...that is where we are headed...Whether more people are employed, or the market does this, is irrelevant to the long term health of the economy. Basically, it is one big shit sandwich, and we all have to take a bite...or, more specifically, our children will have to.

That's a very fair statement. I would argue that they're white men, men with advanced age, tending to be from a favorable economic background, but it's still just a blanket statement, which is, and always will be, bullshit.

I've always been of the mind that a clear, concise, well thought out positive position will always go farther. But that's just me.

i find it funny that there are conservatives that post on a drug site.

you'll find that most (all?) of our "conservatives" are of a particular brand of political philosophy called libertarianism. it is quite drug-friendly.

a more accurate statement would be to replace "conservative" with words like... ignorant, paranoid, misinformed...

This so called prosperity began shortly after clinton was elected. So unless it was just because clinton is such a cool guy i would doubt this period was only due to the very few things clinton did at the start of his term.
