I love how people keep bringing up how it used to be perfectly normal for 13 year olds to give birth.

Well back then it was actually kinda nessecary for people to start producing that young just to keep our species growing. Children were unpaid laborers, and there was plenty of work that needed done back then. The work back then, couldn't just be put off like we do these days. If the work wasn't completed, you'd probably die, or at the very least suffer for an extended period of time while you battle off pneumonia or something from exposure because you didn't get your home sealed up for the winter or suffer from starvation because you didn't get the crops harvested fast enough. Not to mention that you had to bet on at least one of your children dying pretty young from disease or something.

That is no longer nessecary for our species to survive. Let's not even get into the complications of a girl barely out of puberty, actually getting pregnant and carrying to term. Just because she has the plumbing doesn't mean it's all perfect and ready to go. Shit we could probably make our children leave the house and start fending for themselves at 13 or 14.. That doesn't make it a good fucking idea.

your argument has absoulutely no basis in my opinion.

I still stand by it being horrible to demonize so many men when a sexually mature woman consents to sex.

Nope. I'm speaking of 'back in the day'.. 1940's there's no reason why it should've been legal for someone over 18 to fuck someone under 14.

Let's call it pre-1900's, is the only period that IMO it's acceptable for an 18+ year old to be sexually engaged with a 13 year old. There's no need or reason for it today, there's no justification for it. Wasn't in 1940, either.. Just because it's legal doesn't make it right.

I love how someone on this site of all places could hold up the law and go "see look they say it's okay! so I can do it!".. If the law knows what's best for you, then you shouldn't be using, selling or manufacturing drugs. Or do you just wanna pick and choose which laws make sense and which don't? Cuz if you do, then refer back to the last line of my 2nd paragraph.

EDIT: And with that I'm done. I know from past experience that if I let it, this will just go back and fourth all day and I don't feel like doing that.

#13 I wasn't looking to the law to tell me what's right, I was just joyously noticing that in Spain, IF my shenanigans are discovered by parents or some other overly protective parents, they don't have the law on their side to basically ruin my life with a fucking phone call.

There doesn't have to be a "need", people can do whatever they want at a certain age, regardless of necessity.

Who needs "justification" for it?  From who?  You and others?  A act the involves two legally consenting parties, and does not hurt anyone else, does not need justification. 

People doing this act 100 years ago did not need a "justification" and people today don't need it, it a natural human act, get over it.

I was molested when I was 8 years old.

I personally do think it's a good idea to let kids be independent at that age. Kids that young want to make money and party hard, they don't give a shit about school. They have a lot of energy and tend to get rebellious and don't want to listen to their parents. I think we should have a system where kids are able to leave the house at age 13 and then choose to go to school later when they feel like it.
