Whyz it gotta be his worst moment? I would consider it his best moment due to the fact he had super human strength to lift that cross after being battered and being in paradise.

It would suck going through it as a normal human, but knowing you're God in the flesh would allow you to swim through the lake of fire all the way to heaven.

I kinda think none of us deserve to be saved, but at the same time I kinda think it wasn't our choice to be born here so our actions aren't really free will.

I feared Hell and death/suffering up until the beginning of this month, now I embrace the fact that I can't control anything but my body and that I will do what I can one day to make this shitty life I have feel worth living. I don't care for any other humans approval because nobody knows anything, but I pray in the end I make it to paradise, despite the truth of the universe.

The back of my mind still says no one is deemed worthy and this is all a trick in order to troll everyone into believing there is hope, but people treat Jesus like a get out of jail free card. Once you sin the card goes away but once you repent it comes back.. yada yada yada..

How/why on earth would Jesus want to save us?

It should be like baseball, 3 strikes and you are out.

I see what you mean with some what your saying.
Especially people using Jesus to avoid consequences.

But I don't know what you mean about Jesus not wanting to "save" us.
Is that not his duty? Isn't Christianity grounded on acceptance of Jesus Christ as lord and savior?  Without the whole savior part isn't he just a dictator?

I'm not trying to be rude, or bash on your beliefs, so I hope I'm not offending you.

I'll reword what I mean

Basically I meant regardless of his duty to save us from our sins, no one deserves it because no matter what we sin daily, then repent, then sin again, then repent.

Basically that means Hitler could of repented right before he died and made the entire holocaust victims die in vein, no consequence.

Why would there even need to be a Hell, or Satan if humans can just repent at the end and receive their free gift of everlasting life.

Why would there need to be faith involved? Believing what you cannot prove would mean you KNOW he exists, not just speculating with your fellow followers. So how can you actually believe Jesus died on the cross? Because you were spoon fed that by your parents at a young age, as-well as the concept of an everlasting Hell that kept you on that page...err Book all those years thus embedding FEAR into your brain to keep you from doing certain things..?

It would make more sense if you were born with the TRUTH embedded into you, with a three strike out rule..

Hmm, its funny now though, after typing that I came up with another conclusion... Maybe that's why we get unlimited tries, because we only have one life and God knows we are all learning and growing day after day, year after year, and eventually we kinda "just get it" and the older we get, the easier it gets to understand, but at the exact same time, the harder it gets because we as humans get bored and want instant gratification and choose to live like animals (beasts) that rape and pillage all we see.. Basically we can balance out our lives by living as sin-free as possible, but most choose the wrong path because its easy to accept money, lust, hatred.. But its a trap.. Mind fuck.. lol

And no, you didn't offend me because my journey isn't complete, im still learning more and more everyday.

I still wish I knew if we chose to be here or if it was just "tough luck".. Some claim we are here because we asked for this, but I don't recall asking to be born,

I'll address this one and give you the "other side" of this. The other view, I guess. While it is true that most christians and mainstream christianity do rely heavily on the notion of christ dying on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. I will point out that not all followers / believers in christ subscribe to that dogma.

I personally think of christ more in the regard of a teacher. Someone who "got it" and was merely trying to pass his wisdom on to others. Seen in this light, he is a christ (messiah, savior) because of the things he taught us, not because he was supposedly tortured.

I have often thought / wondered if he may be one of the most severely misinterpreted religious figures in history. Realize that much of the dogma that surrounds him comes from interpretation and from books written by people who lived long after his death. For example:  It is part of the dogma of most mainstream christian sects that Christ is The Only Son of God. Some believe that he (and he alone, among men) is equal to god.  The ever-famous John 3:16 touches on this. However, remember that these are "John's"* words, not Jesus' words. Jesus did say that he was the son of god. But did he really teach that he was the "only" son of god?

Or did he teach us a prayer that begins with the words "OUR Father who art in heaven...."?

Did he teach us that he was some special miracle child who could do things no other man could do?

Or did he actually teach that any of his followers could perform miracles if they had faith that they could do so? What is it christ was really trying to tell us about the world, reality, and ourselves?

Just some thoughts.

*Who actually wrote the gospels? Were they written by the apostles whose names they bear? Most scholars seem to think this is not the case, and most if not all the gospels were written years after Jesus supposedly died. This of course begs a lot of questions-- including: Did the authors of these works really understand this man and his teachings? Are they accurately portrayed?

I see what you mean now.
Great points.

I've often wondered about the need for Hell myself. I don't consider myself Christian, but I still ponder the reasons for these things since most people around me are Christian.

Like you say, the sin-repent cycle is deeply embedded in the mind of the average Christian.  This has created a whole religion based on fear.  Because lets face it, no one likes the idea of going to an eternal Hell.

After reading your second post, a three strikes rule doesn't sound too bad.  But at the same time, my anti dictator-God mentality kicks in, and I have to wonder why we should be punished at all, since we're all here without a clue as to why or how.

I think as a people we need more answers.  Not just Christians but people the whole world over.  And I feel if we don't get those answers soon, there will be a world religious war.

I got many posts that would make your head spin lol, with multiple views, like when you said

"and I have to wonder why we should be punished at all, since we're all here without a clue as to why or how."

Yeah, I don't ever recall telling God I wanted to be born, so why should I have to play by the rules...

Being on the fence (luke warm) is considered bad but not only do I feel like I will never be deemed worthy anyway, there are to many unanswered questions and lack of proofs for me to figure out what I exactly need to do to consider myself "good"..

Stress and fear is the mind killer, and all religion seems to do to people is cause those two things...

what keeps me going is that subconscious thought of hope that everything will some how work out in the end... or Armageddon actually happening, then ill just have a complete transformation, run around naked spreading the word to all forms of life, laughing and crying and refusing the mark of the beast and shedding blood for Christ, dying with a smile on my face and being in paradise...

Or when i'm like 70 years old i'll convert completely and live the rest of my days a sin free life and pray for the best lol..

If i go to hell for that, what can i do?

I completely understand that view point.
I've been there myself, many a nights with a joint in hand, pondering life's isms.

Honestly, I like your view on Jesus much more than the average person's.  People do take the Bible as His words, when really it could all be heresay.

Many people also don't realize the Bible isn't the only holy work that Jesus is in.  He very well could have been a prominent holy man who traveled the land preaching things much differently than what we are told he taught.  We must remember he was put to death for a reason, and it wasn't until years after His death His teachings were really taught.  Long after he could speak for himself.

Christ is back but very few people know it. God is staring people in the face and they don't realize it.

For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. -- 1 Thessalonians 5:2 (St. Paul)

He is not returned

Matthew 24:42  "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."Mathew 26:64  "Yes it is as you say,"  Jesus replied.  "But I say to all of you:  In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."Mark 8:36-38    What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?  If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with holy angels.Mark 13:26-27   At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.  And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.Mark 13:35-37   Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back - whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.  If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.  What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'Mark 14:61-62    Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Might One and coming on the clouds of heaven."Luke 9:26-27   If anyone I fanyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.  I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."Luke 17:28-30    "It was the same in the days of Lot.  People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.  But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.  "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.Luke 18:8    I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.  However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"Luke 21:25-28  "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars.  On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.  Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.   At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift your heads, becasue your redemption is drawing near."
