As this was my first go with pereskiosis grafts, I've just experimented with them to see what happens.

A small log of what I did if you are curious

31st oct, sowed seeds, under 6400k 160w
20th nov, grafted to pereskiopsis, stock all shared a tray of plain moler
25th nov, feed @100%
12th dec, feed @100%
22nd dec, grafts potted up seperately into 2" pots, mix of moler and compost 50/50
03rd jan, feed @100%
15th jan, feed @100%
30th jan,  feed @50% plus some added miracle grow for a N hit.
07th feb, feed @100%
>somewhere here I raised them up to closer to the bulb, to within a few inches
13th feb, feed @100%
21st feb, feed @100%
03rd mar, changed to 6400k 85w due to dead bulb, temporary measure
08th mar, changed to 5500k 150w, buds sighted

My ferts are 8-34-32 + trace elements.
Light cycle is 15/9.
Temp in the box peaks @35C (well, last time I checked!) and drops to 15-20C when the light is off.
Between feeds, they recieved plain, warm water, a good soaking each time so no build up.
Very few pups have had to be removed, 4 out of 8 have tried to pup, and I think they have kept quite nice shape for grafts being pushed.
Maybe I over did the feeding, and certainly wouldn't feed a mature cactus in this fashion, but nothing averse has happened yet.. just having fun with them!

Cool thanks for that.
It is always good to see it all laid out like that so I can see what you are doing that is different to me. Very interesting I have never pushed my pere grafts that hard.
What are the lights you are using ?

I though it might have been to have that sort of wattage.
I am still running 4 foot fluros ( 36 watt ) but I am covering 6 shelves that are 1200mm x 400 each. Most have two tubes but I now have 2 shelves with three tubes each.

The benchmark for the competition is about to be set by the great work from Mostly_Harmless.
With the main competition ending sooner than expected; do we end all competitions as originally planned with the first lopho flower or do we allow them to run for longer?

For those that entered the lopho competition AFTER October 31 and believe they have a chance of flowering QUICKER than Mostly_Harmless PLEASE POST The DATE you've sown the seeds and current pictures so that the prizes will be on hold. This is for those that are drawing close to flowering and not for seeds sown recently.
The competition still has not ended.

Sown November 2, 2012.  Grafted sometime in january.  Got some weird growth going on, and it recently popped out these three pups.  Despite kinda looking like a loph, this is a tricho.

Well I was going to add a 3"+ rooted TBM crest to the prize pool for an American winner only (due to CITES), but it looks like it won't be going to anyone. If an American wins the Lophophora contest with a Hail Mary, then it is up for grabs by the winner.
