The reality, is that unity is a distant dream, everyone lives in their own personal universe, separate from every other persons personal subjective universe, and the real universe.

The problem is that it is irrational to expect so many beings, with in many cases no relations between their understandings of the world, to achieve the same goals.

A large portion of people in the world are stuck in survival mode, and are struggling to get by each day, this is their only concern, and they do not even have the time to try and find spiritual enlightenment.

and this is deliberately contrived by elite forces who choose to keep a status quo which helps them maintain their sense of superiority and power etc. So what I am saying is to see through how they do this. Of course some people seem to have no time for this, but they STILL care and ask questions. They are not robots as much as the control freaks would have them believe of themselves.

but the superpowers that be succeeded in controlling the masses.. does this ring a bell? capitalism? consumerism heavyweights? oil companies?

imagine reversing all of that, ideals anchored in love and compassion and just caring for one another.. human treated as a human... a better place all in all..

People in their natural state did infact live lives full of violence, starvation, and constant migration, society is a big improvement.

I agree completely, I occupied in 7 cities and went through alot doing so, but all that aside, a wise man once said, those in power will never cede their control, willingly.

Idealists always become realists some day, because a small minority of people has no right to impress their views and idealism on others, until the majority of people feel this way, it is infact right that we should bear the burden of our brothers ignorance.

I think what zzripz is really just trying to point out, SeaShrooms, is that a better, more deeply ethical world is still possible for us, here and now, and IMHO it would be close-minded of anyone to deny this. What may seem irrational and idealist today may just be the real solution of tomorrow.

Yes, and that a crucial thing then to do in order to explore the 'REAL-ity' we are all brought up from tiny tots to take AS the 'REAL-ity' is look at mythologies, and see if we now are also enmeshed in myths and if so what are they. Are they beneficial myths or toxic myths. Toxic myths I define as those that make you feel like shit, and fearful, your body, about your nature, about others, including other species and about nature.

Myths are stories that get told us and which we then internalize. So questioning is very important.

I'll ignore the other poster, nothing worse than people breaking words down with 0 knowledge of etymology, that's that 5%'er shit. But your right, a better world is possible, and I do everything to fight for it, I think I stated earlier I occupied in 7 cities and had 6 arrests, was on the news and all that shit, and have been part of anarchist movements for 4 or 5 years, but falling into idealistic bullshit keeps us from honestly assessing the situation, and being able to make any real change.

(Edit: Don't want my comment on 5%'ers to be misinterpreted, they are a white hate group, so anyone who supports them is racist, not the other way around)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by idealistic bullshit. Keeping a holistic outlook is always key. That means seeing idealistic and realistic thinking as being different sides of the same brain (pun intended.) I think that denouncing either train of thought gets us nowhere and is at best a waste of time, at worst a cause for war.

I agree with you, in so far as a realistic view is rarely discussed alongside idealism here, I have a fair bit of both, largely by necessity, but I certainly can not say the same for the people having this conversation.
