Are we becoming the alien? * 1
    #17752799 -

I was wondering the other night what the goal of conscious intelligent life would be. And I realized that for it to even exist after a certain point it would have to unify. The weapons and destructibility of a species only gets greater and greater as the species becomes more technologically advanced. This then presents the problem for the species because in order for it to continue advancing itself technologically, it must come to some agreement to not destroy itself, it must come together. The species reaches a pivotal point. A paradox, it can't have it both ways. It must shed it's inferior perspectives and evolve, or destory itself. It must come to understand one another and unify, or it is basically doomed to never being able to advance.

So I was thinking maybe if there are ET's out there, more advanced than us. They must have gotten past their fear, hate, condemnation, retribution, in order to even be existing at all. I basically view the human species as going through some adolescent phasing right now.

Perhaps this is the progression of all sentient life. I think as many tools as we build to destroy ourselves like nukes, we also construct tools to help us come together. Like the internet. No one really looks as the internet like that, they just see it as some accident that happened to revolutionize our world but what if our own consciousness is unintentionally, inadvertently constructing the tools that will ultimately save us in the end.

"The computer in your cell phone today is a million times cheaper and a thousand times more powerful and about a hundred thousand times smaller (than the one computer at MIT in 1965) and so that's a billion-fold increase in capability per dollar or per euro that we've actually seen in the last 40 years," I think I was just reading an article about 3d microchips (I dont understand that) and nano cells.

Where do you see human beings going? At the rate that we are advancing now, things are occurring at an accelerating rate. I honestly can't envision the next 100 years, much less the next 50 or even 25. Perhaps we are just moments away from the great paradox of human civilization. where we literally have to just give up our fears, prejudices, insecurities, and judgement and make the great leap of conscious evolution into peace, love, and acceptance.

Taking into consideration the Fermi paradox, I would say that it is very possible that life has arisen many times over but self destructs due to its inability to meld peacefully as a species.  This idea will become ever more menacing as technologies that far surpass nuclear weaponry are available to the common man.  There is an actual theory concerning imminent self-destruction of sentient extra-terrestrials, but I do not remember what it is called.  Let me know if anyone knows.

Are we becoming the alien? Not in the typical sense of the word. We can not be alien because the word means:
foreigner, esp. one who is not a naturalized citizen of the country where they are living.

We can however be learning alien technology, but as advanced and civilized as we think we are, we can't even take care of our planet.
We can't even take are of our children, ourselves, our minds. We can't stop killing each other. We have a long way to go.

I agree we are advancing at an alarming rate, and who knows where we'll be in 10+ years.
But I hope it's not just technological advances we make.

Yes, this pivotal point in our evolution will happen a relatively short amount time from now I think. There may be groups of people who will try to stop this unification, but As we are all starting to connect and unify our ideas into a more general consensus of what is really going on in the world there is an acceleration of concepts and ideas that make it across to billions of people with things like the internet. These ideas and concepts will really start to open eyes around the world.

When people finally realize why these wars and divisions among belief systems and social class systems happen for reasons they may not approve of or agree with, people will start to question more and realize they have been fooled by those who want to deceive them. Those who were the deceivers before will do anything possible to keep their agenda going, but before long we will mostly realize what is happening, and by then the power structure will crumble, or attempt to go full force with the plans that have been slowly happening over time.

I believe this will lead to the next real step in human evolution, a new way of thinking for humans who will not tolerate oppression, fear, and negativity in general. This would be a far more unified and efficient way of thinking where we will truly start to expand as a species and as individuals. This would be a great thing if possible, because we could finally focus on important issues like long distance space travel, contact with other forms of intelligence, we could finally start to focus on the important matters in the universe, rather than blowing each other up. I agree in that humanity is in it's adolescence and we have much more to go before we can actually start to get past our problems as a whole species.

So yeah, I'd agree that most other intelligent life out there capable of long distance space travel has came to a general state of mind where division, negativity, and fear in general is something that would not progress themselves as a species, and would in the long run do more harm than good.

I'm really high so I hope that had at least something to do with your post. Sorry if it didn't

That's more or less what I meant. The technological advances are so great that we literally have to choose our fate in a sense. I am reminded of a Mckenna lecture where he was talking about how people say that everything that is happening is just the natural unfoldment of development processes, and he asked what exactly are the development processes, and why should the universe prefer order over disorder. Although at first, it might just seem like a poetic notion but the more I think about it it really seems like love is the ultimate conscious endgame for humanity.

I feel exactly the same. I think all civilizations have to go through some development to get to a level of unity.

I believe the human race will save itself when it frees itself from the shackles of money and corruption. When the 1% runs the world and make out for everything to be about consumption, items, and wealth. When the world is truly ran by the people, and not by some money hungry monarchy.

These are my thoughts exactly.  The fact is there are other very advanced interstellar civilizations who have mastered the art of living in harmony with one another as well as balancing their advanced state with their technological capabilities.  When we look upon these craft that visit our little sphere called Earth we are indeed looking into our future.  That is if we can pull together as a species and do that which is necessary and not that which is dictated by our collective ego.  As you stated we are approaching the apex of our civilization thus far.  The transition to a Type I civilization. If we manage to make it through this perilous time, we will earn our right along with our space brethren in the cosmos.  Eventually space flight will be commercialized and we will begin to colonize the near stars in our galaxy.  I presume once we have unified under our common grounds as homo sapiens, we will make the leap into homo galacticus.  Once this has been accomplished I believe we will have open contact with the other races.  Through this we will be welcomed into the galactic community and join the "galactic federation" if such thing exists.  Which i'm sure it does.  Our destiny is great, if we so choose.  "We can explore space, both inner and outer, forever."-Bill Hicks

funny old films of 'modern man' from the past. Real horror like Hiroshima and the mushroom shaped nuclear explosion. At about same time 'Flying saucers' come into the public knowleedge. Just a bit earlier Albert Hofmann discovers LSD. Just a bit later Gordon Wasson discovers and brings to the attention of the public consciousness magic mushrooms. There are reported cases of UFOs intervening in the nuclear weapons bases (Robert Hastings, UFOs&Nukes), There are also reports from claimed contactees, experiencers, and abductees of warnings from aliens about our abuse of planet Earth, and the use of nukes. The internet for those who use it good can provide info which helps us view comparative info which reveals diversity which can broaden the mind. Help us see through propaganda techniques, and also occultism (9/11 etc). Galileo looking through the telescope was expanding his vision. Now we have Hubble deep space photos! Psychedelics also take us into deep space...

it is more about seeing through their control so they don't control you from the inside. It is pointless to try and get the OUTER control because you would get caught in the trap of having to get bigger and bigger weapons etc etc which is the insane trajectory they themselves are on in their manic need for 'control'.
A big part of their inner control is making you feel you need what they say you need.

unify or death of species

unifying is already taking place

facebook/the internet lets people know they're very similar, they share everything with each other, but with facebook they share EVERYTHING, music, movies, pictures, location, mood ,...

internet is like global ego-dissolution (mckenna quote)
(at least I would hope so:) , have seen too much ego on the internet but it seems to be softening

I have found out that a lot of the people I knew were spiritual, which I didn't know

yes it must come from the heart, the spirit. The control freaks, as I see it, attempt to break spirit. You could see the anology with breaking a 'wild' horse. Notice its natural being is often called 'wild'. And so we see the cowboy mount the animal and the animal of course tries and tries to throw the human off, and tries and tries, and then a kind of learned helplessness occurs and it is called 'breaking the horse' or taming. And what happens to animals tends to get done on us. Children get sent to their schools. Are FORCED to go, and their spirit gets broken which is meant to happen!

Psychedelics can bring this spirit back, and then integration is learning how to nurture it and encourage others.

that is my experience too

started loving to dance (and do the other stuff I never would dare to do before),new hobbies/friends,play guitar, sing, love myself/everything,see the world as a beautiful place after tripping, see nature/animals differently and the world changed for the better, I could better speak to people about emotional issues, feel connected to nature/all living creatures somehow, found my true self I guess (had forgotten for many years due to working so much)
(all this after the trips, not only during them)

weed usually has the opposite effect for me I realized, but I try to trip in moderation, since the key to tripping is incorporating the experience in real life afterwards or the trips are worth nothing (you have to be ready), found out that tripping should max be done every few months (same with weed preferably).

The last time I was truly happy was before I went to school (and before trying to do what everyone expected me to do/be like), and now after 150 trips. Can feel it as when you feel good you like (every part) of yourself/the world and see the world as amazing/beautiful.

Luckily I had only chosen education based on interest rather than money-earning potential, so was lucky to chose the right study (was always somewhat under the illusion of my ego, but it was mostly over-consumption and not loving myself/nature (would throw trash in nature like everyone else, but not anymore) or not daring to do anything, I had the health of a 60 year old before tripping as I didn't care about myself, now I feel like a new much healthier person and love every part (started with my hands and feet, then arms lol)).

I realized that the more I know the less happy I will be usually (so I don't need to know everything now), and the more I own (the more I own the more worries I will have due to the fear of losing it, so I live a simpler life now).

A good quote:
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’.
They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life."
- John Lennon

peace

lol I loved John Lennon, he was a right rebel.
I threw trash at nature too in the period when school was dulling me then at 15 I was turned onto acid and suddenly my vision ofand feeling for nature was dramatically un-dulled and now I will pick UP trash I see often thrown by others and bin it
it moved me when many years later I found Albert Hofmann who discovered LSD said that he wanted his 'wonder child' to bring people back to nature!!

This!

I think it's really important too to shift away from this mentality that an individual's actions don't make a difference in the world. All too often I notice people say this, often I believe to justify apathy. I even catch myself thinking this way myself. It's a tricky frame of mind and one must be aware at all times. It's easy to think if one makes a change, it will be automatically be diffused by surrounding cells promoting the status-quo, when really living by a good example is something that affects people every single time, if not always directly, then definitely subconsciously. The status-quo is in reality very fragile, thus it is so aggressive and tries to push its memes onto as many hosts as possible, and if challenged, resists irrationally and sometimes very violently. Living wholesomely, attempting to vibrate harmoniously with the planet's natural frequency, not pushing ideas onto others, even if they stem from good will, but letting virtuous actions simply speak for themselves, are examples of ways of being that undermine the hierarchical mindset that resists unified consciousness and IMO essential for our evolution.

We need not be afraid that by acting as a collective species, we will lose our individuality. Trillions of cells make up a human body, all working in sync to sustain an organism of higher consciousness than themselves, and see they didn't lose their individuality. Nothing to fear.
