Is astral projection real, why or why not // This goes out to the skeptics....

Just as the thread title says. I have no personal experience with the phenomena but have
looked into it here and there over the years and seems as if there is much truth. So skeptics,
do you believe that such a thing could be possible?

I've experienced this phenomena while on ketamine.
I'm personally confident that this is real.
However, I have no scientific backing, just intuition and experience.

Im not sure drug induce projection counts.

I left my body and explored the environment around me while on drugs.
Should be possible without, just requires the right practice.

Well I personally think its real based on some sort of faith I guess but I think it would be
more important to explore this phenomena with the sober self. On mushrooms I was physic for
a time and was seemingly part of the event horizon of a black hole. That doesnt mean I am
physic or that I traveled through space.

I momentairly achieved it through meditation. Its strange how similar it was to the launch of a DMT experience, the feeling and sensation of my mind seperating from my body where the same. I didnt manage to do it for more then a few seconds before I "snapped" back into my body. Personally I dont see why it couldnt be a real phenomenon. Trying to tag something as ethreal as that as being real is a bit of paradox of rationality though.

Nearly every time I smoke DMT, I astral project and leave our physical universe.

I've also been stuck in the void between dreams and reality many times, stone sober. I don't know if that constitutes as astral projection, but I could freely fly around.

But seeing as "reality" shifts shapes just by noticing it's existence, which alternatively creates another reality, nothing is actually "real". Or at least permanently real, and permanence is a factor that would institute reality. Nothing is real, but it is what you make it.

I have done it a few times.  The thing is it can be really intense and vivid, as real as the physical world, or it can be more of a loose dream.  But projection into mental/astral realms is totally possible.  Once I actually did it proper and flew out into space...it was a blast

I had an astral projection yesterday while in sleep paralysis.Well i first felt my legs being lifted but when i looked at them they had not even moved.They are as real as a dream :shrug:

I can't say yay or nay for sure.

Years ago when I was interested in the topic I tried to project every night. Never got to the point where my mind was separated from my body, but I did reach a state where my mind was loose inside my body so to say. I was able to move and turn myself inside my body without really moving. It was definitely real sensation of being disconnected from my body, but I was still inside the boundaries of my body. If it is really possible to project astrally it needs more dicipline and willpower than meditation as you have to go to even deeper state of mind. You have to reach to the point where your body is asleep, but your mind is still awake.

It may feel real, but its all in the head. I personally cant believe people actually think that they are traveling somewhere. Of course its not real; just neurons firing in your brain making you feel out of body.

I'm so intensely interested in the topic. It's interesting that so many humans report mystical experiences that are familiar at their core when you remove the more subjective aspects that are heavily influenced by personal experience. But what we know about the brain seems to suggest it's all just in the head of the experiencer. I think we wont know the real answer until we at least get the brain mapped and can record the chemical changes that go on during all sorts of experiences.

Like, for real, I plan on studying the DMT experience and what brain scans show us is going on. I think, coupled with a lot of other control and experimental brain scans, that's the best way to get to the bottom of the hard problem of consciousness.

I have astral projected without evening knowing what it was three times. As I was falling asleep like normal, I literally was shot out of a cannon. I flew out my house into outer space and saw many starts flying by me at a hundred miles an hour. Then I came back to my house and saw myself laying on my bed. I came back into my body. Honestly I think it's impossible to induce this type of thing through meditation. IMO it just randomly happens and feels kind of like a k hole but happens so much faster.

Like one second your chilling and trying to sleep and the next your fucking flying around the universe.

After it happened I was like wtf is this shit I just wanted to go to sleep. I researched and researched and realized this shit is real. The most fucked up part is that you can feel the wind and the physical sensation of flying around your house. It feels more real and intense than high doses of mushrooms and ketamine because on those drugs you know it's all in your Head.
In my experience I thought all this was actually  happening and each subsequent experience has been similar.

Oh and take melatonin before sleep it makes it happen for some reason
