Asheron's Call 2 is an online rpg released 10 years ago and abandonded by Turbine entertainment in december 2005. Turbine will never release the sourcecode but the community has been pretty succesful at retrieving it from saved packages and clients.

On 7 november 2012 (last wednesday) Oplock has released two executables, one which allows you to run your very own AC2 server! And one which provides tools to create new accounts and launchers.

Source code in C# has also been released to build a server from scratch.

The waiting ends here, rejoice!
