Getting rid of the fucking dog

I adopted a high energy dog breed about 6 months ago, and since I've gotten it things started going bad pretty quickly, and are continuously getting worse. Today I found he chewed off the corner of one of the window sills in my place, after pissing twice and shitting once on the floor right in front of where he did it.

Since he was 3 months old he played aggressively with other dogs, which I've never encouraged or let fly, yet he has developed an aggression towards other people, randomly snapping his jaws at peoples faces if they get within striking range... thank god he hasn't landed a bite on a strangers face yet.

Anyway he has now moved on to eating pieces of furniture, and now any household upholstery he can. He has chewed up tables, couches, and now fucking window sills and cabinets.

Typed up the email but haven't sent it yet to let the shelter know I'm getting rid of him if they wanted him back. Owning a dog while living by yourself sucks, I'd highly advise against it to anyone.

Probably. Never owned a dog before, so wasn't really sure what to expect, no way I'm dealing 10-15 years of this shit. I've tried everything to train him and discourage bad behavior aside from a shock collar and beating the the shit out of him, and my patience is on it's very last threads.

The food idea isn't bad, he is a pretty lean dog!

He's a fucking puppy. They chew shit up. It's only like that for a year at most. Even then it's only because he's bored and not getting enough play time.

Food, play, walk, excretion, medical bills, lifespan greater than a decade, barking, somebody has to take care of it when your gone, fur, stealing your food, chewing your shit

not worth it but I'm already stuck with em, no way I could just get rid of them at this point but I've had them for years

I would respect the hell out of you if you are able to make the decision and kick out that dog though, the longer you wait the less likely it is to happen

I've tried to take him to dog parks but he will jump and bite at other people their, and even walking down sidewalks he will take nips at people jogging by. I came up with a few physically strenuous activities inside the house, but I'm sure they're  not very mentally stimulating.

When I got the dog I had this idea with some training he would make a pretty nice pet pretty fast, but the dog still non stop bites people that come over or that I bring it around.

I think that's the worst thing is I can hardly enjoy company anymore because the dog is constantly ravenous towards them, and I spend a majority of the time wrestling it down and disciplining it.

It's like raising a child that you didn't make, that fact is really starting to sink in as the damages $ amount goes up, and if he ever bit someones face like he has come close to many times.... ish. Think I'd rather just surrender the mutt, I think a family with a house and backyard would be much better for him than living with me by myself, and being kenneled while I work so he doesn't destroy shit.

OP, just surrender your dog to the nearest animal shelter if you hate it that much. it's obvious that you're not a suitable owner.... so why keep him and feel resentment? :frown:

He is probably teething if he is chewing on everything. Dogs do that for the first year or so. The aggression is bad but not untreatable. Exercise is absolutely key with a new dog. Sounds like you've bitten off more than you can chew OP (:cookiemonster:)

If you're going to get rid of him, do so in a kind, decent way or it will come back to haunt you. Dogs are man's best friend and Karma is a fucking bitch. :peace:

I think this might be a dog hard to train, but you were inexperienced and not prepared.

I wouldn't keep it anyway, if I was stuck in your position. Try to sell it or give it away.

Maybe you should have let his balls cut off, the behaviour of male dogs changes so much for the better. They are a lot easier to handle, then.

Somehow it's just a dog but on the other hand you fucked up bad the life of your dog.
Having a dog is having half a child.

So do half the thinking you would do when it came to raising a child.
Then you're ready again for compensating your failure by providing a dog a good life.
