I'm 6' and 140lbs and I need to lose a few pounds of fat and gain a few of muscle. I'm not fat, but I've got very little muscle tone and a fair bit of flab. Ugh.

I'm losing weight through diet and exercise. Why? Because I want to be able to walk longer distances without aches and pain. But I'm not falling in the trap of hating my body. Because then no diet and exercise will ever work. You need willpower and for willpower you need to respect and accept yourself.

You're tryign to lose weight for health reasons. Good for you. If you don't look disgusting naked, then good for you. Alot of fatso's do though.

I'm 6'2, 260 god damn pounds (it's my own fucking fault) I'm starting to end up on that line where ya go from husky to fucking fat and I sure don't want that. I can't wait till summer though, I love to kayak, something that's fun and good for me. I can go a long way up river on one of those things and it's fun as hell, just you and the water. Over all I'm actually fairly healthy, cholestrol's good, blood pressure's good, I just need to fucking trim up.

Just keep working at it man. It's easy for some folks to say we're just lazy and don't try hard enough, which is bullshit, no one want's to be singled out, which inevitably happens. But the important part is that you do it for yourself and not because of outside pressure.

oh well. you're only physically fit, which is just one slice of the pie. disrespect is not only a physical thing, such as disrespecting your body and allowing it to get to an unhealthy state. disrespect is also a mental and emotional thing. you disrespect yourself by cultivating these negative standpoints and releasing them onto others. negativity is pretty detrimental to your emotional and physical well-being. let it go on for a long enough time, and it'll definitely be evident.
