Naw, not unless they are holding you against your will.  Unfortunately they are legally able to guilt-trip you as much as they want.

I assume you are 18+ since you are signed up at the Shroomery.  Look into youth-based homeless services for housing and training if you are having a hard time finding a way out of your situation.

Holding me against my will as in like forcing me to keep working here? Because that's exactly what they're doing.

I can't work other jobs or anything because I've quit many times, but they still won't let me walk away like that.

You'd have to describe exactly how they're "forcing" you to keep working somewhere.

If you're a legal employee though, you have rights and would probably be able to sue.

Like I said, unless they are doing something like making violent threats or harassing you outside of their own home and workplace, there's really no legal recourse.

I'd make a real attempt to let them know how you are feeling in an adult manner and see if you can't come to an agreement.

Otherwise, there are other resources available to you, especially if you are young and in a developed country.  It might not seem ideal but it is a steppingstone to something better.

In rare cases. You can actually get "divorced" from your parents if you're a minor and they're detrimental to your health and future. It's pretty rare and usually only seen among celebrity kids.

If you're over 18 you should just leave. You're no longer bound to them and therefore, they can't be stealing your labor unless they're literally keeping you as a slave.

Based on your posts, it seems that you are making yourself out to be the victim; however you said that you can't work other jobs because you've quit too many times?
It's not difficult to get an entry level job, regardless of your work history. (Assuming you're not a felon, since you didn't mention that.)

Honestly, take some initiative. Be responsible and become self sufficient.
Quit blaming your circumstances on your parents. Although they have influence, it all comes down to you making your own decisions.
If it hurts your relationship with your parents, so be it.
Time (and your success) will usually heal the relationship in the long run. Both parties will understand what they wish they'd have done differently.

Growing up can be difficult but it's a lot easier when you take accountability for yourself.

today i asked my parents to leave my apartment before i got violent

they refused

i was going to call the police but they tried to admit me to psychiatric ward again. again.

i'm just like i don't have time for this what happened to when i did my art stuff and you guys did your things and whenever i try to show you my interests it freaks the shit out of you and then i end up looking at pictures of actual human violation gore on the internet for days afterwards so yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yes, If you are doing labor for them, and they originally agreed to pay you, then yes. They are withholding money that you have worked for. It really doesn't matter that they are your parents, at this point, the're also your employer.

That's what I was thinking at the time. Now although there was no paperwork prior to my employment, they did promise me to pay me hourly, but haven't done so ever since.

For those who say to just move out and find a new job, how can I simply quit this job and move out on my own? Realize I have no income/money and they won't let me quit. I would get a new job to save up money so I can move out, but I can't even do that when my parents demand me to keep working here. Is this a right to sue them?
