Mushroom Religions - How did they do it?
    #1684466 -

Does anyone know where online I could get information about how the use of mushrooms was/is carried out in mushroom-oriented religions?

Mushrooms mix well with all religions.

Maybe druids and shamans do it more than others.

I believe the Aztecs and Mayans, as well as several other Native American tribes used them in their rituals(they invented shroom chocolates).

Elvish- Indeed. I almost went with Daltrey in the tub of baked beans but I thought this one was pretty cool too.

What I'm trying to do is find a way to use entheogens as a spiritual practice like meditation or yoga. Perhaps in conjunction with one or both of those. I'd like to find out how religions which were/are "affiliated" with a psychedelic used the drug in their religious context. All of your suggestions are good ones, but might anyone know of a specific article or bit of information online that might contain the information I seek? Yes, I am trying to avoid doing the work of finding this information myself, and I'm only asking for anyone's help who might have a link near the tip of their proverbial tongue. Thank you!

If you're to lazy to find the information what makes you think you're going to be willing to pursue the religion?
