Project: Decode the Ancient Prophesies
    #798425 - 08/05/02 07:11 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

assuming that the various prophesies that have been recorded throughout time are indeed what they claim to be, we have the real option of putting the pieces together to be able to deduce various unknowns in our apocaplse that has been predicted by many religions and individuals. the book of revelations from the bible would seem to be relevent in discussions as well as nostradomus and various societies from the world including native americans, egyptians, aztecs, myans, sumerians, africans(?), chinese, indians. i believe all religion tell the same story in a sense and i believe they are all based off the same basic thing, a creator(s) that has since left to the skys and watches over us. this creator would likely leave messages in the things that would certainly survive time and these messages would be for the sole bennifit of those in the end times, which i feel we could be approaching.

i would like input on prophesies you know of and any input you have on their likely meanings. i believe the words of them would likely need to be taken into context as if seen from the perspective of the person in their time when they 'saw' it with no knowledge of technology, science, or basic daily perspective we have.

if you don't consider prophesies to have potetial legitimate meanings for us and want to add neg karma to this thread, then don't waste your time by posting.

Hence the negative karma as schlorch pointed out. What kind of a filtering device is that?

Just another example of someone not wanting you two's opinion on something. And yet you still add negativity by saying he's scared...typical.

Armageddon? Cleetus... we're doomed!! [Re: ]
    #799449 - 08/06/02 08:43 AM (14 years, 4 months ago)

I never said anyone was scared.

Yeah, we should study all those ancient texts and find out EXACTLY when we're all going out in a ball of fire. Then, at least a week before Armageddon, everyone should send me all their money... I'm making a huge piece of paper mache art. And since you won't be needing your money anymore, I figure it would be cool to make it out of cash (U.S. currency only please). Sorry, you won't recieve a receipt, but you won't need one anyways (remember... Armageddon?).

Please PM me if interested.

Dudes,

You shouldn't be in this thread if you don't have something positive to say!

All you will do is bring down bad Karma on everyone. Say something positive. I'll start:

I like your hair.

I want to ask you a question Swami...Don't you think it is arrogant to assume you know what someone is thinking, especially someone whom you have never even met and have only occasionally read his words?

LOL, since no one has replied to the subject of the post I think I'll give it a shot...

The Australian Aboriginals speak of the coming of the end of one dimension as we enter another. One of their end time prophecies has to do with 'black rain' falling before the ending of this dimensional reality...

From ABC News:
October 8, 2000
There have been reports of black rain falling across South Australia's west coast at the weekend. Residents from Smoky Bay to Laura Bay have confirmed the black rain, which deposited ash on vehicles and boats. The Bureau of Meteorology's weather observer in Ceduna, Mark Bedson, says the black rain came down during thunderstorms across Eyre Peninsula early Saturday.

"I was in dreamtime.
I seen this great wave going.
I tell people about this wave.
It wasn't a tidal wave.
This was a spiritual wave.
So, to me, I believe that the Dreamtime is going to be that.
I believe the revival is going to start in Australia when we're Dreaming.
It's the hummingbee that I'm talking about.
And love.
We've got to learn to love one another.
You see, that's really what's going to happen to the earth.
We're going to have tidal waves.
We're going to have earthquakes.
That's coming because we don't consider this land as our Mother.
We've taken away the balance, and we're not putting it back.
I look at the bush, and those trees are alive.
They're not dead, they're alive.
And they want you to cuddle them. "
-Guboo Ted Thomas, Australian Aboriginal Tribal Elder

Also something I noticed was the common theme of the savior returning on a white horse in both Christian and Hindu prophecy. Apocalypse for the Hindu is the natural ending of the world in the fourth age, the Kali Age. It is said that Vishnu will appear again soon, as Kalki, on a white horse, destined to destroy the present world and to take humanity to a different, higher plane.
Also, the second coming of Jesus is said to arrive on a white horse from heaven...

I know...
Why couldn't the early Christians be a little more original and make up their own mode of transportation for the savior's return?
It sickens me... too bad there weren't international copyright laws back then.

Could you please stop wasting everyones time with your bullshit? Either contribute something positive or be quiet. There are around 5 posts from you and "sclorch" that have effectively clogged this thread with bullshit before the guy has even got a sensible reply.

lol, i guess the question is... Who copied who?

OR, a highly unlikely answer would be that both prophecies were made completely independent of each other but referring to the same savior type figure, just labeled a different name and image by each religion. This would be something.
But it's more likely someone was just lazy and couldn't think of their own damn prophecies...

people talk about the end of the world or whatever, because they know they're going to die at one time or another, so they make up stories to tell everyone else they're going to die and remind the people of the future that they're going to die aswell.. it's just a big story to remind people of their own mortality and to take life a bit more seriously.. so uh, yeah..did i solve the ancient riddle of the nether regions?

I think we live life, and expect to die. We hang onto a hope that there is something more, and after watching movies like the Matrix, we think maybe we can be the one, or something special. Facing the truth that we will die is kinda hard, knowing no matter what you do the outcome in the same. We arnt the one, so maybe our global consciousness will shift. Then again I relize that everything i know is was taught by people. The things i learn for myself are usually ones that cant be taught, and they like to tell me that my other truths are a lie, and to find out for myself.
