Peat Moss.....???

    Peat moss is something that is nutrient for vegetables. But most of the techs i've read uses peat moss & vermiculite as non-nutrient layer. I know that mushrooms aren't vegetables. And i know that poo of grain or straw (hay...e.t.c.) eating animals is used as substrate. (or nutrient layer...) Peat moss can be called as plant poo... :smile: It's a kind of fertile soil. So here is the question;
    Does peat moss include anything that is nutrient for mushies or is it really a non-nutrient stuff for 'em?

Non nutrient 100%, which makes it a non substrate. It is used for casing layers only.
