A thought for those who feel guilty or confused with drugs

I remember my mom saying to me, in the talk I had with her when she found my bowl one night. She made a point to me, that smoking marijuana causes certain parts of your brain to overload and it causes those parts to start to wear out. Whether this is exactly what goes on I doubt, but I want to say, wouldn't you rather grow old with these, often breathtaking- experiences to remember? You're brain's gonna wear out eventually when you get old anyway, so why not see what it can do now while you can? This is just a random thought that was passing through, so I decided to grab hold of it and let it sit here.

How do people find the mentality of that sort of come-back reasonable? It does nothing constructive, and shows ignorance. Blah blah, assumptions.

On topic. Who is to say that what you perceive as the brain 'wearing out' is really as such? Could not it be the opposite? Getting reading for the prime time of death? Who is to say that the biological must degrade to become within death? A thought, again based on speculation.

yo. If you want to feel guilty about using drugs, think about how much damage you are doing by inhaling smoke. Think about how much money could be saving. Think about the relationships that you are destroying with your selfish addictions. Think about just how much of a handicap drugs really are.

If you want to enjoy drugs responsibly, moderation is k3y.
Drugs are not my life, just one part.

Its not either "live sober and die slowly" or "blow your brains our young and remember (maybe) the good old days until you die." There are many shades of gray.

Herb doesn't wear out your brain. It fucks with short-term memory and when you quit smoking for a while (3-6 weeks if habitual user) it comes back. So yes,moderation is the key but I guess sometimes thats "easier said than done" .

I understand your point. I'm defining "wearing out" as becoming worse or less able at thinking and doing the things that a person of any other age would consider important - thinking quickly, speaking clearly, power of your memory, physical adeptness, etc. Because one's ability to do these things lessens as we reach old age I consider this wearing out. I get your point though -brain preparing for death, going into new stage at end of earth life, something to that effect. But if this sort of thing happened earlier in life it would not serve its purpose, because we would not be close to death yet.
This post isnt an argument of anything, I was just trying to clear up what i mean by a person'e brain wearing out.

No one can say what is good for you. I think some people shouldnt use drugs, others, use away... You are the only one who can make the right descision, and make sure you are not lying to yourself, it could land you in a bad place. On that note, dont always trust what society is telling you either, go with instinct. Some people day drugs cannot help one find enlightenment, and to those people I say "Then quit." I find them as a tool for myself, and use them on a level that i feel comfortable with. This level is dynamic, it depends entirely on my attitude at the time, and my life. Right now im trying to cut back because i got things to do and worry about. Control your drug use, dont let it control you. Go with what feels right to you, not anyone else. Peace.

BTW: If you feel guilty doing drugs, you better find out why and fix it, because feeling guilty while fucked up can trigger a real bad experience.
