Why does the grocery store classify tomatoes as a vege?
    #16130424 -

:uh:  I thought tomatoes were comfortably in the fruit class.  What the fuck yo?  I must inform the King.  I also find it amusing that the grocery plays a storm sound when the water rains on the produce.  :awehigh:  Crazy shit.

It is neither. It is a mineral.

Technically, vegetable is a culinary term.

:smilingpuppy:  It is true that they do not water the tomatoes...  Maybe they are minerals.  How come they have leaves attached them sometimes then suggesting their tree birthing?  :etbig:

Those are actually rocks that have been weathered and eroded to look like leaves.

because if you actually eat a tomato like a fruit it makes you bug out.

they hide them in the veggie section so most people will chop them up and eat them in moderate doses with other foods mixed in.

i mean have you ever met someone who just eats a tomato plain with nothing else?

weird.

avocados are also considered a vegetable, but any idiot can see it's a fruit. i think it has to do with marketing sandwiches. you only put fruit on a pb&j.

i had never thought of it before, but it seems logical. marketing is all about the control of the subconcious.

i think with tomatoes at least it comes from some arcane tax reason.  now its just part of the popular consciousness.
