Been having them all week. Cherry tomatoes too. And fresh iceberg lettuce from the garden. Along with deer burgers and lunch meat, fresh baked bread.. You really can eat cheaply so fine! Cooking>Eating out... Growing>Buying. What else can I say?

I wish I had land for a garden... that'd be great. Right now I live in an apartment complex, and I can't grow much. You're pretty lucky.
I can make the bread, though; I have a great bread mix, and all you have to do is add beer. I use Guinness.

Cherry and grape tomatoes are reallly good. My neighbor has a garden and always sends us over a bunch of these along with normal tomatoes.
My grandmother grows solely tomatoes that she uses to make sauce with. Homegrown tomatoes makes for some killer tomato sauce!
Hows the garden lettuce compared to the lettuce you buy in the store?

Did your grandmother immigrate from Italy? If not, how many generations of your family have lived here?

On my fathers side my great, great grandmother migrated here from Italy. Edit: That's my Grandfathers family.
My Grandmothers family migrated here before my Grandfathers family but Im not exactly sure how far back. I think my Grandmothers grandmother and her husband migrated here.
Both my grandparents are full blooded.
My mothers side of the family is Irish and I have no idea when they migrated here.

A mix you buy, or a recipe mix..? I'll have to look into this 'beer bread'.

It's organic, it tastes fresher, and I know where it came from.... Lettuce is lettuce, but you can fine tune it.
