grafting idea's

hey all, are there any experienced grafters that can tell me what grafts are incompatable? i want to start a production line of m.leuthyi and many others, since my first graft,[m.leuthyi on a trihocereus was a take]

i would also like to make grafts with ariocarpus ,other mammallaria's, etc; to cereus, spachianus or whatever.
my last experiment was a ruby ball on a cereus.
any advice or suggestions for upcoming attempts?

Theoretically, any cactus can be grafted to any other cactus.  In practice the stock should be a faster growing species than the scion (So ariocarpus on a trich would work, but a trich seedling on an ariocarpus probably wouldn't.)

My preference with grafting stock (T. pachanoi is my standard) is the fewer ribs, the better.  It's just easier for me to bevel the top of the stock and secure the scion (I tape directly to the stock) with fewer ribs.  Since T. bridgesii tends to have fewer ribs (at least my plants do) than pachanoi I use it a lot as well.  My 4-ribbed bridgesii would make fantastic stock in that regard but I can't bear to cut it up since I've never found another trich with 4 ribs.
