Religion justifies sin?

Ok im at an ok [4] my friend who i was talking with on facebook was telling me about how they got revenge on a person who slashed and broke a car and did the same thing "a year later"

So Im obviously high at the time and I say how what he did was wrong. He even just got baptized, and is now mormon.

So being a person who believes if you join a religion you should actually have to follow it. Otherwise what good is joining one and acting like a hoodlum?

I say "dude you a man of god now wtf" (im atheist myself)

His response was that all man sin and that he has to only follow these 3 certain things blah blah and that it will not condemn him.

Im like wtf thats amoral. In his eyes its ok for some reason. Am I missing something or are religious people just crazy fucks?:facepalm:
