Dubstep bass sounds these days cover a pretty wide spectrum on a frequency graph.

Cool story brah. Does that make the music complex?

Not necessarily.

I've only listened to so much of the crap but I can't say i've ever heard an interesting harmony, chord form, or coherent composition in the genre. None of it really progressess anywhere. It sounds like douche bags sampling sounds and playing with pitch shift to a computer programmed drum beat for way too damn long.

If you like it that's cool i'm not trying to rip your taste apart. But a dubstep song is nowhere near the level of a classical composition. Sorry...

This; seriously.

People think classical music is "better" for certain tasks, where really what matters is what you connect to. The goal is to create a flow between your mind and the music to produce a positive outcome; to each their own. If one person thrives on rap, and another on trances.. well obviously each will do better with their own genre. The only reason people go after classical music(aside from those who are genuinely interested in it outside of "mind enhancement") is because they're understanding of the situation states that they will do better on a certain task, when in reality they're doing better because they truly think it will help them.

The entire concept behind dubstep is simplicity; it was never meant to be an extremely complex genre. Listen to some REAL dubstep aside from 'wubstep'.. you may change your mind. Dubstep originates from 2 step garage.. wubstep is just a grinding aftermath of shitty publicized electronic music.

I hate electronic music and don't care about "real" dubstep. I was just pointing out that it is not complex music and by the sounds of it you agree. Thank you.

Hating Electronic music is ridiculous, because unlike say "rock" or "rap" electronic dance music isn't limited to anything; not by sound rhythm, instruments, ethnicity, culture.. nothing. Besides, you'd be extremely surprised how electronically altered most music is out there, despite whatever genre it is, whether it be by autotune or by synthesizing an instrument you think is being played by a live person.

Thnx?

I guess any music is good if it makes u feel like doing werk.

Im a multitasker myself and actually like listening to audiobooks while undertaking tedious tasks.

Classical music, metal, dubstep, rap, or techno, neither is superior for mental function.

Im sure this guy would agree.... Metal is good for the soul

@______________@ No music is any better for the soul than another! It's the preference of the person.. The effect produced is based on the interest of the person; if they are in tune with what they're listening to, the result will be beneficial(if music does indeed help the situation for you personally). The genre is different per person ._.

i can easily say it a third time, i don't mind.

You don't hear the complexity because you either can't or don't pay attention to the texture (i believe the musical term is timbre) of sounds.

Whether you find the sounds appealing or not, modern dubstep basslines are both the forefront and the current peak of sound synthesis (outside the entirely different and much more complex for less results realm of physical modeling).

Moonlight Sonata Remix

5th Symphony Remix by Wolfgang Gartner (I've remixed this before into a super 5th symphony song using the song in the link and a purely orchestrated one, sounds awesome) -> 5th symphony remix disco

Winter by Vivaldi anyone?

Hey, it's all personal preference I was just stating my oppinion and i'm entitled to it. I don't expect you to like what I like.

Electronic music is limited in the fact that it doesn't have the same depth and tone as a real instrument played by a human being. I can't get into it, sorry. It just has no soul and is robotic, emotionless music.

I play multiple instruments and spent years dedicating countless hours learning to play them and express myself through them, i've been in recording studios and never used and "auto tune" or synthesized instruments.

Some douche bag with fruity loops and a keyboard can start making dubstep within a week.

I really didn't want to get into a argument here, but hating electronic music isn't rediculous... it's just my damn oppinion and if you have more to say kindly :eatadick:
