Texas - Deadly Force to Protect Property
"A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect his property to the degree he reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, theft during the nighttime or criminal mischief during the nighttime, and he reasonably believes that the property cannot be protected by any other means."
"A person is justified in using deadly force against another to pervent the other who is fleeing after committing burglary, robbery, or theft during the nighttime, from escaping with the property and he reasonable believes that the property cannot be recovered by any other means; or, the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the property would expose him or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury. (Nighttime is defined as the period 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise.)"
op is prolly in jail because they looked at thief # 1's phone, i hope he is getting brutally ass raped by 6 foot 9 gorilla right now.
you dont like his prices or his product, find another hook up. you are trying to justify being a thieving pussy because you dont like his prices? you think you didnt do anything wrong because you didnt go in?
its fairly obvious your life is not going to amount to shit so please die OP...
Not that I want to help you in any way what-so-ever, but you might want to consider whether or not shooting someone lurking behind the trees on your property after dark is actually 100% legal. The information you quoted does not state that shooting trespassers is legal. Lurking behind a tree is not "arson, burglary, robbery, theft during the nighttime or criminal mischief during the nighttime."
I don't think the OP did anything wrong, though I would encourage him to find better friends that are not thieves.

its clear as day, i have seen many cases in news where this is legal. kids TPing your house = not ok to shoot, thieves lurking behind your home with the intent to steal = 100% ok to shoot, in my state anyway. he was acting as a look out which makes him just as guilty as the other guy. he could have stood up like a man and said "no your not going to steal from my neighbor," but instead he followed him over and kept in contact with him acting as a accomplice. i work to hard for mine to pity the lives of thieves.
