nice work blimey!

Thanks, but I haven't got a chance to check on the patches to see if they actually fruited yet. I just know that in September mycelium was spreading quite nicely.

It's our duty as members of this site to spread Psilocybes to any environment that they have a chance of surviving in, at least that's what I believe.

And I wish MM would take me off ignore already... this stupid grudge has went on long enough.

Well, I consider relationships to be more important than mushrooms.  I only react to how I'm treated.  If you're indicating you've changed all I can do is wait and see.  And if you want to trade notes privately I am more than willing.

Nay, I find it hard to believe that this was anything other than natural atmospheric transmisssion and that they found a 'niche' in san francisco's climate..the same way most other mushrooms spread themselves around, mostly through the air, especially when it gets windy

I think they spread from other patches in your area.  If you check the range of Ovoids it is quite large.  Yet we have no indication from McIlvaine's work at the turn of the last century that they existed at all.  Obviously they are able to spread rapidly.

btw, this also doesn't explain how yet another sub species got to SF about a mile away, also new at the time in 2008..I did some research on the contractors for the landscaping and they sub contract with east bay chip suppliers (by the ton), who get the base chips from oregon, the grind it down further and process it

so this is a relative of p oviodeocystidiata, purely conical, primarily a spring fruiter and difficult to fruit for that reason, unlike the newest ovoids in SF, which fruit in fall

New or undiscovered?  2008 was predicted to be a bumper year for mushrooms.  The plethora of new species and uncommon species that turned up that year was remarkable.  That was the year P. caerulipes was first discovered by a member here, me.

What are you basing its relationship to Ovoids?  The morphology is radically different.  Beautiful mushrooms.
