My patch of unidentified bay area psilocybes

They aren't exactly cyanofibrillosa or cyan. Found these in the Monterey Bay area months ago. All of them have short stems, they tend to just hover over the ground, unlike cyans do. Some of the caps ARE wavy and they are much more meaty than the cyans i recently collected in GGP.

I think we should call them psilocybe cyanofriscosa since they are found around the San Francisco Bay Area. I find it easier to say than cyanofibrillosa too. Happy Shroomin to all.

a single fricosa among my patch of cyans in GGP. It also had the largest stem i've ever seen (at least 3 times the size of a regular one in Monterey)

it's difficult to determine, although the one time i took them wet the trip was certainly a little different than all my previous trips, dry.

I've seen the same thing, where these fibs appear to be growing out of the same patch as cyanescens. Most of the places where I've seen fibs, cyans are either close by or among them, which is why I thought it was a subspecies or a singular strain. Can't exactly call them cyanescens because the shape isn't the standard wavy cap, and they do get much larger.
I still think these don't have a name yet, so people call them fibs..I like friscosa tho...hehe
As long as you know there's good. I know their good, but it will probably be some time before it becomes official regarding the name

wow! that's really cool...so it's actually a yet-unnamed species?
-------------------- Under his instruction, I taped drumsticks to his head and turned him into a sort of mummy, or perhaps a caterpiller in a cocoon. He remains this way for about three hours, making bizarre noises, pretending to be a new species that must learn to walk and talk and eat, etc. And he communicates with other life forms by way of the antennae on his head. Eventually we jam a tube from a waterbong into it's mouth and figure he's learned all he needs to know.

Ahhhhhhhh.
These are extraordinarily similar to the mushrooms found in the spring of '03 by Joshua and GSAFarmer near Clackamas Community College in Oregon...
New species all the time...... so jealous.

It's incomprehensible to me that in cases like this people don't take sporeprints.
